Still don't get how anyone thinks he is even remotely on Teddy's level. He's a very athletic kid with good size. He still looks incredibly raw and could use a lot of work on mechanics. I'm not even confident he would be a day 1 starter on many teams outside of the Jaguars. The one thing I really like about him is his arm strength.
I'm sorry but he's really all measurables. I'd take him late first 2nd but no higher. He's going to need a ton of development. I don't even think is better than Kaepernick coming out. He's big and fast, and has a nice arm but nothing wows me.

You're allowed to like whatever players you like. Personally I'm not a fan of Mariota. Would rather trade down and get Boyd if we're picking and Bridgewater is gone.

I'm thinking so because he's considered short and the highest he'll probably go is 2nd half of the 1st.
All the "running" QBs seem to have a good first year or so but then the leagues catches up to them. As of right now give me Teddy!

Yep. Mariota only makes sense for a few of the NFL teams, one being Chip Kelly's.

In saying a prospect is "all measurables" you are suggesting he doesn't have the production to match. Except he does.
See TMD I would consider your argument against Mariota, had you not been all excited over the prospect of having him on this team before seeing him play and saying he reminds you of Gabbert.

I'm still trying to figure out how Mariota is barely averaging 60% completion with the insanely high amount of swing/screen plays they call. If it wasn't for massively wide open downfield passes to Addison all season his YPC and Total yards would be much much lower.
I know the Cal game was a monsoon but he had two screen pass TDs and a 1 yard rushing TD and it was considered a good game.

Making a post or 2 (and thats all it was) about his potential inclusion on the team pending a screwup and winning meaningless games does not constitute "being all excited" about Mariota.
I didn't start posting extensively about Mariota until seeing footage of the player, in which he reminds me of most other QB of that ilk, of that system.

If anything, perhaps I should have just never even made the few onocuous posts which included Mariota as a possibility.
Its better than posting a 70 yard rushing play as a "pro" for Mariota, when that play would NEVER wind up happening in the NFL. Never.

I'm hoping that Tampa is stupid enough to draft Mariota 1st overall, (based on the impending blowup at the combine) which easily sways idiots to focus on that crap that doesn't matter, so then we can have Bridgewater fall right in our laps.

I've been lambasted for saying this on Twitter but I am genuinely curious what Gabbert would have been like in college his final season if he was playing for this Oregon team instead of Mizzou.
Mariota is a better prospects with better downfield accuracy but I think Gabbert would have been a good fit for the offense.
