Quote:Ahahaha it's a Louisville Cardinal paper TMD.

ah that explains it. I just skimmed and saw "Cardinals" & thought it was some Az Cardinal crap. Still don't care for the pot shot he gave the Jags, tho.
Quote:I don't get it. All of a sudden where is this Marcus Mariota fever comes from? Is it because Louisville just lost to UCF? Well, TB played a good game in a losing effort. Or is it because didn't perform lights out against Rutgers two weeks ago?

It's because none of them actually watch Mariota because he plays after their bed time. They check the box scores and see the inflated Oregon stats he puts up while stil struggling to consistently throw for over 60%.

Watched it at least 15 times now. He's amazing. Jaguars NEED Teddy Bridgewater. Not poor man's Kaepernick. He is so damn good at throwing his passes perfectly to the receiver. They rarely need to make any adjustments to catch his passes. Blackmon will absolutely FEAST.

Quote:I'm not trying to do anything. I like Bridgewater and I like Mariota too as pro prospects. I'm willing to explore and be open minded about the 2 best draft eligible QBs this year.

This time last year Geno Smith was a sure fire top 10 pick. Then the losses started piling up and his stock started tumbling too. Its too early in the college season to say for sure Bridgewater or Mariota aren't headed down the same path. Mariota hasn't played against a real NFL type defense yet (but Stanford is coming up soon) and Bridgewater won't face a real test THIS YEAR until bowl season.

It doesn't hurt to continue doing research on both prospects and even expanding that to all QBs draft eligible right up until the draft. That way you don't look like a fool who pigeonholed yourself for the first prospect you saw if he doesn't continue playing at a high level.

This is simply an asinine and borderline clinically insane way to approach talent evaluation. Haven't you learned anything?!?!? Find a guy that you love, focus on him and him alone, then start denigrating every other player out there. It's the Jaguar way!!!

Wait...you're allowed to like both????

That's just crazy talk.

15 times, in 2 days? You have a really unhealthy obsession with Bridgewater

Well if both were actually equally good QB prospects that both had a good chance to succeed at a high level in the NFL, then yes...

When one is clearly ahead of the other, then liking both equally, or "settling" for the lesser one seems kinda stupid.

Not many people have said they are equal and no one is settling. Mariota is the fall back plan if we can't get teddy.

Breaking: you can like one player more than another but this doesn't mean you have to hate the other.

Careful, you're going to fry some folks' synapses with this line of thinking.

How is anyone "settling" exactly? We are all just fans making observations.

Well, he did openly admit to searching for shirtless pic online.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars -Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

Whether the Jaguars are picking first or not, it’d be a surprise if they did not end up with Teddy Bridgewater as their franchise quarterback. From what I’ve heard, they’re eyes are squarely placed on having Teddy Bridgewater as their quarterback next season. Bridgewater will likely end his college career as one of the highest graded quarterbacks of the past ten years.

Bridgewater by a mile.

Mariota is way too boom or bust for the top pick.  Mariota is super protected by Oregon's offense.  Mariota almost never has to make NFL throws or go through progressions in the pocket.  Even with an elite offensive line, he almost always throws from outside the pocket.  The only time he even throws from the pocket is when there is a predetermined read when he takes a shot down the field, throws a quick slant, or a screen pass.  I think you'd get almost the same everything if Mariota and Boyd flipped teams.

Wayyyy too many quarterbacks hyped as top 5 or 10 in this year's draft class.  Its a great class, but that doesn't mean there are 5 elite qb prospects.  Many of the quarterbacks that are talked about as top 5 or 10 prospects will be 2nd rounders.

That may be a clue into why Caldwell is stockpiling picks, but I would like to see what his sources are as far as the Jags.
I'm definitely a Teddy fan. Don't hate Mariota but don't love anything but his upside.

I'm gonna get a lot of flack for this, but I think a dark horse for our pick could be Manziel. I'm going to break down his Alabama tape tonight, will know a lot more after.

I wouldn't mind JF if we could trade down some and get some more picks and get a good C and OG in the draft or free agency.

No flack from me.

If you look on the right side of the page you'll see Mariota has a higher grade than Bridgewater.

Cool....maybe Tampa will be stupid enough to buy into that crap and take Mariota 1st overall when they get that pick!
