Get outta here with that lol, want to get rid of a guy with his accuracy from 50+? That is a game changer.

He does have a confidence about himself when it comes to kicking from 50 plus. He seems to welcome those. I welcome that.
Fowler played well.  The sack was busted assignment but still nice game.

Definitely some signs of life out there. I tried to focus on him and Jack mostly cause I know ramsey's got it down. Today I saw 4 times where he flat out beat the OT across from him 1v1. 3 Outside rushes and 1 Inside and each one was either a pressure or a QB hit. That was outside of the free shot sack.

If not for Mariota being agile and the refs still not liking to call holds in our favor DFJ likely gets one more sack maybe even two

That 56 yarder was dead center and looked like it could have been good from 60, no problem imo.
Quote:I'm sorry, are those stats good to you? 2 tackles (less) and 1/4 (less) a sack per game and you're here talking like this guy has arrived or something?

DFJ has been awful all season. One free rush at the QB in week 16 doesn't change things for me. I still think he sucks and is playing totally out of position.
Tell us what you REALLY think about Dante.

Yup, but who cares, hes missed 3 xps this year. Cut him.
I guess this counts as his best game. He has always been fine on unblocked rushes (who isn't?) which he got two of today. The pressure where he hit Mariota's elbow was decent but more of a problem with Mariota stepping up right into Fowler who was being blocked pretty well and Fowler reached through Conklin just enough to make the play.

Couldn't find the whole rush unfortunately but it was pretty clear that if Mariota had better pocket presence that play that Fowler doesn't get a pressure.

Quote:Dante Fowler Jr now has 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his first season of play. Someone get some smelling salts for KYJaggy, he's probably been under too long now.
2.5 of those sacks were unblocked stunts and the other was the play where Malik flushed Fowler into Rivers after like 4 seconds, and it was still a generous "in the grasp" sack that very often would have been ruled an incomplete pass.

That is literally the only Fowler sack that wasn't a complete free rush, and obviously it was a very fringe in the grasp sack/incomplete pass too.
Quote:Im still calling for his head and I don't care what he's hitting distance wise. He's gonna cost this team with those missed PAT's next year. He's the Dwight Howard of the NFL.
i know your history of your post and its one of the worst this board has ever seen. This dont suprise me. Howard took the Magic to a final and would be more than happy if Dante could do that. Fowler a Florida boy and wont leave Jags like Howard left Magic though. Another [BLEEP] post by you

Where's Fowler's take-off from the line? Do you have that one?

I remember Fowler pushing him back and to the QB.

Hes a first time edge. He didnt play there at FL. This is his first year, coming off an ACL, playing the position. Coaching staff hasnt even taught him any moves. Not sure what your expecting...

I just said I couldn't find the whole rush...but yes he did push Conklin back some. Mariota also drifted a couple steps that way and then stepped into the throw toward Fowler too. It was both possibly Fowler's best true rush of the season and also a poor job of pocket presence by Mariota where he had a wide open pocket otherwise.

lol, you reach so hard. You want to be so right on Fowler it burns inside, when he has a good game like he has today you hate it

I am expecting people to not try to blow smoke for a guy who has done next to exactly nothing except for when he has had a free rush.

Also, he played mostly DE at UF I don't know where you are coming from. He had his hands in the dirt probably 75% of the time.

It's actually the exact opposite. People are reaching so hard to try to validate Fowler that they count two complete free rushes and one pretty decent pass rush as having a good game.

I am more than ready to heap praise on Fowler when he actually deserves it.

You could make that arguement about any QB in the league stepping into a sack on more than one occasion. You really love picking nits huh?
It's always something else whenever it comes to Fowler huh KYbro... lol  :whistling:

Sure, and I wouldn't give complete credit to a different defender who was the recipient of poor QB pocket presence either. I judge Fowler like I would any other player, no fandom skewed glasses on for anyone.

1 sack. 1 tfl, 3 Qb hits and 3 pds

I think it is absolutely ok to say he had a good game and it is sure as hell ok to say he deserves it.

Off the edge?

Im quite sure your full of it. He played all over at Florida in the game tape I watched in 2013.

He may have played it at times, but exclusively? No. If he did, Florida is pathetic level bad at teaching pass rush moves.
