Ngakoue didn't even bend on the play. He was straight up the whole time. Fowler is the only one who used some bend on that play.

Ky and his "analysis".

Lol KY I love you dude, you're almost as funny as Omaha Jag

Quote:Yannick isn't a great athlete no, only slightly above Fowler. He can bend very well, however, and that makes all of the difference in his case. Joe Goodberry wrote about the play below in an article illustrating bend that I unfortunately can't find now.. It included a better slow motion video of the play, but it can still get the point across.

As you can see, 90% of the play is the exact same for Dante and Yannick. Their get off starts at the exact same time, they get virtually the exact same acceleration, the exact same depth on their rush, exact same positioning on the respective OT, etc. Mirror images of each others rush. And then they have to bend to get to Flacco and you can see what happens when a DE can bend and one can't. Dante gets pushed past the pocket harmlessly as we have seen so many times, while Yannick gets the sack fumble.
lol, i think you posted the wrong clip for your analysis because it doesnt match what you wrote.

He obviously doesn't know what bend is.

Ky is like a parrot. He repeats the things he hears without any understanding of what it actually means.

Yannick clearly has exceptional bend.  Many of us were going on about it during the Spring and Summer and it is indeed helping him get to the quarterback more than Fowler.

Still  -- at least 3 of his sacks this season have come from other weapons in his arsenal besides his bend.  Clearly that's a good thing.

The kid is a very promising pass rusher and a great value in the 3rd despite his disproportionate play against the run.

Even versus the tacks he faltered to adjust in the run game a few times.   He'll get that together in due time.  I couldn't be happier about landing him in the third.

(on his bend back in the summertime: https://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/to.../?p=764102 )

KY I appreciate the numbers you bring, I think you have an interesting perspective in draft prospects, and I respect that you seem to be an avid football fan, but good grief, you're making a fool of yourself to say Lee is not "above average" and I won't even start with your Ramsey evaluation.

It's not all numbers my man, I'm sure you'll tell me how Lee is run of the mill in TDs, and has too many games where he has like 30 yards receiving, and that's true. But you gotta look at scheme, situations, timing, matchups, who he has throwing it to him, football is way more complex than what someone's 3 cone drill is.

Not a huge Fowler fan yet, so I might end up agreeing with you in this instance. But give the kid coming off an ACL a chance. You were wrong about Lee, you are wrong about Ramsey, it's ok. We're fans. We can be wrong, we're not being paid millions to make these evaluations (neither are your boys at PFF) I've been wrong plenty of times. I was a HUGE Byron Leftwich fan as he was coming out. I was wrong. Admitting mistakes isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of intelligence and growth.
yannick is bending on that play, but it isnt ridiculous. Its not like von miller-esque. Still good enough to pair with hands and get to it. Fowler is just pushing at his man lol.

and to the guy above me and whoever else, Lee isnt above average unless above average is a really large group.

Yannick isn't really bending much at all on that play. He's turning the corner because of good hand usage, but he's not bending around/under the OT.

He beat his man by swatting the hands of the LT down and used a swim technique to push around him. Yannick beat him clean, but it wasn't because he bent around some edge.

Would you say that Fowler has below average bend?
On the Four Wheel Drive segment on Jaguars.com, he was asked what he plans to do this off season as it's a big one for him and he mentioned after rehabbing, he'll be working with Von Miller who he mentioned he looks up to and is a mentor of his

So our 2 weakest positions are spending the summer with pros to get better? Blake going back to Cali and Fowler going to see Von?

Damn this team! They always sucker me back in!
Fowler is gonna beast it up next year.  SOOO much raw potential.
