Perhaps by then he will learn how to line up on the correct side of the LOS. Next step after that is to teach him not to move until the center snaps the football.
He may not be a bust but he appears to have the intelligence of a cinder block. Pushed down the QB 5 friggin yards out of bounds Wallbash . Not smart.

Tweet from Brian Jackson (@WJXTBJackson) - Bradley: We're trying to break some bad habits footwork wise for Fowler. It's a challenge. #Jaguars @wjxt4

They've been tinkering with his footwork since the end of camp. What was wrong with it then when he was dominating the competition? Get this guy a real coaching staff that knows how to develop plsyers please.
Quote:This is the stupidest excuse I've ever heard. Same idiots used similar excuses to apologise for gabbert.

If you want to say it is too early to judge him, just say that. But he a is not a rookie. He is a second year player that needs time to develop. But his idiocy is not because "he's a rookie". Don't try to pull that weak sauce here.

You mad bruh?
Leonard williams should have been the no brainer pick. Add him to the list of busts this franchise has
He's a bust in regards to being a bonehead. Too many penalties from him so far. In regards to talent, not sure yet. He's in his first playing season. I think next year would be a better indicator.

I have to admit I was against William a because interior guys, even really good ones, rarely produce at a top 5 level... That appears to be incorrect with him....
Too soon for the bust label.

Fair to call him dumb as a bag of bricks though.

Quote:Nope, Fowler is a 30th percentile athlete who had a horrible 7.4 3 cone, 112" broad jump, and 32 inch vertical jump. And he probably isn't even that anymore post ACL surgery.

By comparison, Beasley is a 90th percentile athlete who had a 6.9 3 cone, 130" broad jump, and 41 inch vertical jump. Oh yeah and he also destroyed Fowler on the stat sheet in college.
Beasley is 2 years older than DFJ.. How much do you think that age difference matters?
Fowler is not a pass rusher. He fooled us all in camp. He's a LB

Not that much. You can't add explosiveness to that degree unless you're totally new to exercise. You either have it or you don't.

Love the passion and aggression.

I'm not a huge DFJ fan. I didn't love the pick, but I'm not ready to call him a bust yet. Beasley, the guy everyone seems to want to compare him to in this thread, had 2 sacks in his first 13 NFL games and 4 in his first season.

It's funny that was the only smart thing Boselli said all night.

The following article has appeared in many newspapers nationally.   It will be interesting to see if DFJ finally gets Gus Bradley's message about playing smart and under control.

Seems to be his mind is racing. If he can slow down that process while maintaining the energy level he will become dangerous. Might need to give that dude a xanax before the game. :woot:

It will be interesting to see to what extent DFJ has progressed around a year from now.   With added experience and a likely new coaching staff,   I think by that time the Jaguars will have a good idea what to expect from him long term.   And hence plan accordingly.
Perfectly stated, D6.

Disconnect with reality.  Unwilling to accept his first year is his first year, "rookie" or not.

I agree, I would have welcomed Williams or Cooper.

I thought Folwer was a big reach for a LB at the pick (and got blasted for saying so.)

But that's something we can't change.  He was raw coming out and was expected to need work.  That takes time.  More than one season.

This scheme is doing no favors. Look at Branch in Miami. Hes looking great this year. To sit here and say Fowler is a bust agter 9 games is ridiculous. He was always raw coming out. Gotta let players develop...would help if we didnt run a [BLEEP] scheme too.

Condidering both Washington and ATL both had Fowler atop their board too...
