And now Poland has agreed to give the US the Soviet-era Mig-29s they own, in exchange for replacements (US made planes).  The Mig-29s are being flown to Germany to be handed over to the US.

The Mig-29s are what Ukraine has been asking for, because Ukraine has pilots that know how to fly them and maintenance personnel that know how to maintain them.

If we give those planes to Ukraine, that really ups the ante.  It'll bring Ukraine a lot closer to victory, but it'll put us a lot closer to a direct confrontation with Russia.

I hate to say it, but I believe this is inevitable. Russia keeps pushing and pushing and they will keep testing the boundaries until some major country finally pushes back.

That's a pretty inhuman take. Americans are defined in part by our capacity to feel compassion for other people so I'd guess you're very wrong about the vast majority of Americans.

I said I wasn't coming back here but this place is a [BLEEP] train wreck.  I can't look away.

You just have to embrace the lunacy and realize you're in a twilight zone of sorts when you're here. Otherwise it does seem quite distasteful and disheartening from time to time.

That's a very short-sighted way to look at things, but then again this is what social media has brought to us.

Imports from both Russia and Ukraine are important, especially when it comes to grain and fertilizer.

Don't pay attention to the cost to fill your vehicle up at the gas pump.  Look at the grocery prices.  EVERYTHING is going to be a lot more expensive.

Looking at fuel alone, my commute to my "regular job" doubled to where it costs me around $100 per week just to go to work.  I am fortunate enough to where I can absorb that cost, but a lot of people can not.

My farm uses a few tractors that require diesel fuel.  $5.00 per gallon for that stuff makes running an efficient operation very difficult.

Have you ever looked at the price of seed?  Price of animal feed?  Price of fertilizer?  It's all going up and makes my yield go down.

I hate to do it, but I may have to lay a couple of workers off to compensate for the rise in my costs.  It will mean working harder to achieve our same production, but at the same time it puts someone out of work and not able to provide for their families.  It really sucks and is a hard thing to do.

Prices for whatever your farm produces should go up too.  Who knows if they'll go up as much as you need them to, but if you don't plant, you won't benefit.  Why not plant everything you can and delay laying anybody off until you see what price you're likely to get?

The Russian war has little to nothing to do with inflation and gas prices as of today. Going forward it will cause more pain but to me standing against Russia is worth it. That said it’s kind of pointless if we’re just going to go buy more from Iran and Venezuela.

Where are they going to land and take off from? Where are they going to get serviced from? That is an open act of war if another country is allowing it.

That will start WW3 very shortly.

So let's buy gas from a worse country?

Get ready for $7-8 for gas. If it doesn't stop quickly, look for $10.

Sad!

I'm surprised it's being reported that low. For Russia's viewpoint it's probably less than the deaths from all the nazis constant bombing Donbass.

Good news, looks like someone either was trolling or thought better of the Poland deal. Not happening now.

A Wall Street Journal poll shows that 79% of Americans support a ban on Russian oil, even if it leads to higher gas prices.

A wide majority of Americans, 79%, said they favored a ban on Russian oil imports even if the prohibition increased energy prices in the U.S., according to data from a new Wall Street Journal poll. Just 13% said they opposed it.

The ban had support from 77% of Republicans and 72% of voters who said they would support former President Trump if he ran again in 2024. Among Democrats, 88% said they favored the moratorium on Russian oil imports, including 94% of Democratic men.

The Journal poll surveyed 529 registered voters from March 4-7 about their opinion on halting Russian energy imports.
Try a real poll, the numbers are only going to get worse. Europe isn't going to stop buying gas from Russia so not sure the US has to be the only one to pay.

In case you missed it .... the conspiracy/misinformation is now down to <1 week. China pushed the Ukraine biolabs story earlier and then in testimony to Congress today the biolabs were confirmed.

The conspiracy theory pushers got it wrong though on the number of labs as they said there were only 10-13 of them, confirmed to be at least 26 in Ukraine.

Confirmed by whom?  This is a well-known conspiracy theory that is being used to justify Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Why do you keep supporting Putin?  It makes me wonder who you really are.

Until we feel it personally, then we go to war.

The only reason the United States entered WW1 was because our trade ships were being blown up by U-boats.... well that and that they were trying to get Mexico all riled up. ha

Americans don't start to care until they are hurt as individuals.

EDIT: And more than that.. Ukrainians are a world away. They saw their "leaders" spending the multitude of riches their land affords them on dachas and villas for themselves. They didn't get a decent military. They didn't try to help the people. They lined their own pockets... and now I'm supposed to put my family at an inconvenience for those people? So sorry that I have a one income house. So sorry that I have two kids to take care of. I'm so [BLEEP] sorry that I don't ask for a [BLEEP] handout. I'm sorry those Ukrainians didn't fight their corrupt government. I'm sorry that I have a family that means more to me than people a world away that honestly don't care whether they're Russian or Ukrainian as long as they are fed.

Watch the video because the transcript isn't as clear.

I think it was Rubio, maybe wrong, but he's a RINO scum all over the effort to start a war.

Anyways, I don't think the propaganda said Ukraine, it was more pointed towards the US and NATO using Ukraine to create the bio weapons. Don't you think this very statement now is setting the stage for the CIA to release something and blame Russia? She said they were working to secure the labs, so therefore Russia doesn't control the labs. So how will they blame Russia for the release?

There is definitely propaganda on both sides but so far the US and Ukrainian side has been terrible. Everything they put out is being verified as fake or disinformation. Russia is looking more truthful right now. So let's see if they drop evidence that can be verified of what the labs were doing.

You say, "Russia is looking more truthful right now" when they have shut down the last vestiges of free speech and deny that there's a war going on, and after all the lies they've told?

Why are you parroting Russian disinformation like this?  You have to be living in Russia to believe the stuff you post.  Or working for the Russian government.
