Quote:Here we go again...all this does is pull the " 9/11 was Bush and administration fault" responses...like now. Blame can go all around..FBI? CIA? DHS? A do nothing Congress?

What should be done? Tougher gun laws? No Muslims allowed? Mandatory arming of all citizens? Calling it Islamic Terror vs Terror?

If you think this wont happen again under whoever the next POTUS is, then you are naive at best, which I dont think is the case. Agenda? Perhaps

Eventually things will change..surveillance laws...Patriot Act imposed and expanded. What we call our freedoms will slowly erode, if not for just self preservation.
Our freedoms are gone. They have been for at least 15 years. The next President will just use the blood from Boston and Sandy Hook and Aurora and Orlando and wherever's next to publicize and legitimize the stripping of our rights, and they'll be celebrated for doing it. America as we know it died somewhere between January and September of 2001.
Quote:If they connected the dots then they should have interrogated or brought him in. What is the point of connecting the dots if you aren't going to do anything about it?
And what? Arrest him? He has 1st Amendment rights, so he can say or peruse anything..and until he actually commits anything, zippo.

How many in Jax are involved in crimes that are convicted felons? Theyve been interrogated and brought in...arrested in fact. Yet every day it seems, theres a shooting and many times these aint guys with clean records.
Quote:You really want people carrying guns in a nightclub? Drinking heavily and guns doesn't seem like a great mix.

Then, of course, there's this...

"Combining razor-sharp axes and alcohol sounds like a very bad idea, but it seems to be working for the Timber Lounge, a popular axe-throwing bar in Halifax, Nova Scotia."

Sure. So do we maintain the status quo, or make changes?  Sadly, its the few that make changes for the many.

My mind has changed in some cases. Do we eavesdrop at potential areas of danger ( mosque, KKK, Black Panther HQs) or even those that spread vitriol through speech, marches, protests .( Westboro) Do we profile at airports, border check points?

Its already happening. Love him or hate him, patriot or traitor ..Snowden has put out some interesting information out there just for starters. ( Cameras with facial recognition, equipped with superior sound pick ups that can hear a conversation while you sit at a red light, installed in everything from street lights to traffic lights )

The world has changed, and so has America.and it will continue. I wish we could contain it, but how? Wiping out ISIS? You dont rid yourself cockroaches after youve crushed a few.

Im postive our immigration, surveillance ,etc programs will change...even if, and probably wont, hear all about it
Quote:The last quip about Mateen's father makes no sense. The only reason he'd have become so enraged after seeing two men kiss in public is because of his religion.

That's not true, I've known a few very non-religious homophobes.

Yes, but did they shoot over 100 people because of this hate?
Monday Morning Terrorism has reached an all time entertaining level on here.

How many of them grew up in a completely secular culture?
Hillary said weapons of war have no place on our street. She gets it. She has my vote.

So how does she propose we get rid of Muslims and Christians?

I also applaud the 100% fact that she will disarm all her body guards too.
Quote:I highly doubt this is true. Someone would have picked up on it by now.
You mean the mainstream media would suppress such an idea?

No, but I know of two instances where they stalked and beat up gay men for no reason other than they were gay. I'm not equating the two, just disagreeing with 02 that homophobia only comes from religion.

Where in the world would this be?

I never see them on the street except when carried by cops.  Apparently bouncers can't see them either.  Just as nobody thought it was strange for a white boy wearing body armor to join an all-black Bible study group.
Trump tweeted that Billary will in fact start to use the words radical Islamic terrorism. I guess even she isn't dumb enough to realize this is an election killer for her.

Quote:Agreed 100%...This guy has been under FBI watch. Twice. Yet, he can LEGALLY purchase an assault rifle , pistol, [BAD WORD REMOVED] load of ammo. Argue all you want with the 2nd amendment, but for the life of me ( literally ) I cant understand how a guy like this can go in and buy this stuff...well..I guess its because its his right. Ok. Then we live..or dont...with the consequences.

Shouldn't you be surrendering right now?  After all, anyone "under FBI watch" should immediately lose all their rights.  That includes you whenever you visit a web page, send an email or make a phone call.

Can't we all agree they should at least lose their right to purchase firearms legally? Whatever you did to get on the FBI watch list does not warrant you purchasing firearms in my thinking.

Hell, why stop there? We should just put them in a camp until they fess up about their crimes against the state.

Whatever someone did to get on the watch list is good enough for you, eh?  But they don't tell you what you did to get on it.  Still good enough?  You are ready to give up all your rights  - and mine - to a process with zero control, transparency or oversight?  Thank you for identifying yourself.

Not all their rights. Just the right to purchase firearms.

Edit: You appear so PC, you would rather have massacres occur than insult someone. I am befuddled that you are perfectly fine with a guy on the FBI watch list who has been interviewed on 2 different occasions being able to purchase military grade firearms legally.
