Quote:How is marrone beyond qualified? Because we went 9-7 with the bills one season. Please
He was only there one year. Ya act like was there 5. He was only hc 4 days and blew out the tacks.

Like what Nancy? Too be fair, you add nothing but fake tweets and whinefest central.
Quote:He was an OC under Payton when they had great success. He went to Syracuse and turned that program around while he was there. He went to Buffalo and had their best year in 10 years with a [BAD WORD REMOVED] QB.
Yet McDaniels who has only had success with Brady is more qualified.
Okay bud...
So Marrone is your top choice?

How are they fake tweets? Theyre rumors, just like most in this thread.
@alexmarvez Source tells @sn_nfl that @Browns making change at defensive coordinator. Offered job to Gregg Williams; Wade Phillips also contacted

See there is this thing called "logic", now stay with me it might be hard for you to grasp. Fake tweets come from fake accounts run by people who just make up stuff. But hey, you want to embrace them, go ahead.

Nope, thats not my argument.
You keep saying hes not qualified and cant win here. When in fact every large role hes had in an organization hes won. Thats what I have a problem with.
No problem with you preferring McDaniels or others, but dont spew that stuff when its clearly not true. Marrone would be a good hire. Theres multiple routes we could go that should get this team back on track. Do i have guys i like more? Sure
Doesnt mean im going to throe a temper tantrum if they get a different more than qualified coach like Marrone.

Lol, if they hire Gregg Williams...

Do you like Mcdaniels more than Marrone?
It's beyond belief the fear of cleaning house...
When you're where we are, there is no fear.

What makes it a fake account lol? Because you say it is. Its an account thag spews rumors.

Due to my preference on cleaning house, yes.
Is it drastically? No. How can it be? Marrone won everywhere hes went. McDaniels blew up Denver. Went to STL and couldn't do anything, etc.
Coaches can improve, so thats what im hopimg for with JMD.
If Marrone had never coached here he's probably be high on my list. Shanny is still my top choice.

Is your twitter thing verified? Where are there sources from?
Again, go check the people who follow them.
I have nothing against Marrone specifically but I would really prefer we completely change the staff.
That's why I prefer Mike Smith (or Coughlin among other former HC) or eventually Shanahan if we go on a coordinator.
Keeping Marrone would very likely mean keeping Hackett (which is also what Blake would prefer). -While as a DC I can't really see Wash staying anyway, not after the number of players who complained and I think that side of the locker room needs a new mind in there.
We'll see what happens but if we end up with Marrone the whole process would have been a bit bizarre (fire Bradley with 2 games left to start with the search with a firm you hired for it and then end up with the guy you already have when you could have evaluated him at leaset half a season if you made the move earlier).
Quote:I have listed reasoning before in other threads but just a quick recap:
1. He is the opposite of gus, very football smart, all about winning, no nonsense kinda guy
2. In my opinion based on his track record, he is a good coach. he showed great improvement to the syracuse program and in 2 seasons improved the bills. just in two games with the jags as head coach we looked like a different team as well.
3. He brings with him better staff, higher profile guys. one which would be a possibility for us is mike pettine as DC.
4. The players seem to respect him and respond to his coaching.
5. He is well respected around the league among his coaching peers. you can find articles that back that up as well as the most recent endorsement from the man in the hoodie himself.
i know marrone was part of the staff while gus was in charge and we were a joke, but i have seen plenty of times, a business can switch out just one person at the time and things greatly change and improve for the better. you cant fault marrone for mistakes the team made when he had a boss to answer to and he cant just go over the bosses head, thats not the way it works.
I do fault the front office for not canning gus sooner and seeing marrone in action for more games, but this is where we are at now.
All good points. I look at Marrone's success in the league compared to McDaniels as HC, and Marrone easily looks better. Just watching this team the last two weeks and listening to Marrone, I like the guy. Now I don't know that he's truly the best candidate, but as I've said before, you really could do so much worse. I see Marrone setting the bar pretty darn high, and per recent reports he's clearly the favorite for the position.
I'll go ahead and rank the candidates by most likely to get the job...
- Doug Marrone
- Mike Smith
- Kyle Shannahan
- Josh McDaniels <--looking for ideal spot ... ruled out 49ers and Bills ... Jags job fits him (good defense, solid GM and owner, great location)
- Harold Goodwyn
- Anthony Lynn
- Bill O'Brien <--looks to part ways with Texans if they lose WC game
- Tom Coughlin
The most recent Super Bowl winners (going back to Shanahan 18 years ago) are either in their first or second NFL HC job.
Rarely their third.
History says if it's a winner, it's going to be someone with NFL coaching experience in their first or second NFL HC gig.

Which candidate would be going into 3rd gig? ...aside from Coughlin that is.
@jasoncolebr #Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan is going thru interviews with #Jaguars and #49ers today.

None that have been reported are.
