Reportedly coach needy teams are waiting on the status of Bill O'Brien. The guy is a good coach who's been dealt a short have in Houston, he'd be an excellent hire IMO, strong leader, detailed oriented, and a great offensive mind.

It gave them two extra weeks to determine they like the guy you don't like.

 

Of course, no one actually has any clue if that's who they "like," but don't let that stop the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth.

I actually like the Raiders in this game.


Cook wasn't that bad against a top 3 defense in the league. They can also run the ball pretty well. I think it's a close game but if I had to bet, I'd bet on Oakland.


Either way, Houston firing him wouldn't be about his production. It's the fact that he doesn't get a long with McNair and their GM.

Pretty sure there are tinhorn fans who want O'Brien gone. I guess he would be above Marrone but  I still would prefer McDaniel, Shanahan, or Haley.

Of course there are Texans fans who want O'Brien gone, Texans fans who aren't very bright. The guy has been hamstrung by awful QB play but has still found a way to win games, I'm certain Bill is well respected around the league and would have no trouble finding if job if let go be the Texans. I'd take Bill O'Brien any day of the week, I think he's a better candidate then all the guys you just listed. He's had success (as a head coach) at both the college and professional level, the guy is a good head coach

I really hope Denver hires Toub or Vance so we can have Shanahan.

Why does everyone want Shanahan? Can you see him leading a team with strong personalities?

No one knows til he does it, but hes been an OC for 9-10 years and is Mikes son. Im sure he knows what it takes and what goes into it.

Considering it seems the Broncos job is Vance Joseph's in waiting, my prediction of Shanahan being the hire is the most likely scenario. I believe Marrone is a fallback option if Shanahan doesn't take the job.

For one thing, his offenses have been top 10 every year for 5 out of the last 6 years.
