Armando Salguero reports that the Broncos have officially received permission to interview Dolphins DC Vance Joseph.

Mike Klis of 9 News points out that timing could play a big role in who ends up as the next Broncos’ head coach, as both Kyle Shanahan and Dave Toub may not be available to be hired until a few weeks from now. However, if the Dolphins lose to the Steelers today, Klis says it’s possible that Dolphins DC Vance Joseph could be hired as soon as tonight.
Quote:Yes Cunningham is clearly the better running back.  He is so much better and respected by that organization, that they have given him a whopping 171 carries over a 4 year span.

lol
He was one heck of a qb back in the day for the Eagles too.

Sounds like he doesn't plan on meeting with teams until after Monday.
My lord. Take it to the RB thread
If Vance is the Broncos HC I think Shanahan will be leaked as our choice by mid-week.

Alvin Pearman would have been a pro bowler if he had 10 toes to work with
Broncos looking like they'll be the first to hire

Agreed

Yeah I agree
I really want Vance to get the Broncos job, that gives us a better shot at my top guys, Shanahan and Smith

Was Smith even rumored to be interviewing for the Denver job?
Shanahan has to have strong hires at OC and DC, especially DC. That will decide everything.

He did work under Mike Pettine in Cleveland, so there's a possibility.

IDK i'm just saying it eliminates one opening with a guy we dont even want
Apparently McDaniels had a strong interview (according to bigcatcountry). I much, much prefer Shanahan. McDaniels' track record in Denver, the Broncos videotaping scandal, his belief in Tebow, the fact he seems like a first rate [BLEEP]... And Shanahan has done a great job in Atlanta. He's an offensive X's and O's savant, a young, fresh face, and has a good football pedigree.

McDaniels have been bad anytime he hasnt had Tom Brady and Belicheck, Denver and St Louis, I dont know why people are so high on him,

Shanahan on the other hand, has gotten career years out of Matt Ryan, RG3, McCown and Matt Schaub

I don't get Denver's attraction to Joseph.  The fins were 15th against the pass and 30th against the run.  If you're making a jump from coordinator to HC the stats on your side of the ball need to be at/near the top of the league.

So it seems now that everyone is leaning towards Shanahan despite him having no HC experience.

That kind of thinking is what got us Bradley. It's bigger than the numbers with him from what I've read. It's how he communicates, leads and the respect he has league wide. Been a popular name a few years now

They think he's a leader of men. Not every coordinator to get a HC job had stellar units the season before.

If you feel you have the right leader you make the hire regardless.
