Quote:Dude, I don't want to be that jerk on the MB.
I'm sorry to be argumentative. I just don't see why we should defend this guy so much.
Hey, don't worry. I don't understand it either. It's not like he's had an exemplary lifestyle.
Quote:Oh come on. Stop being so literal.
If I were to use your logic, I guess I could just say he's a drunk and anything he does is because he's an alcoholic.
Oh... Wait... I might just have a point...
I'm only going by what you are saying...I'm not the one saying it.
Quote:Honestly, I don't care what he does off the field so long as he doens't hurt anyone else.
I agree. But if his off field actions create a distraction to the rest of the team, why not just get rid?
What are we really gonna lose? In my eyes, he's not that special.
His talent has already been wasted. He's not mentally strong enough to figure out how to be a winner off the field. That means that has the marbles are dropped, he won't have the intestinal fortitude to succeed when things get really heavy.
But whatever, let him go to another team and figure it out. I'd rather him not taint our team.
Quote:I assume you have a car. I drive all the time.
I've never been in a situation where I blew out my tire and hit a guard rail. But I guess pro athletes that have exceptional talent have pretty bad luck...
Sorry, I just don't buy it. Maybe I'm a curmudgeon on this one...
I'm just done with this dude. Plus, I still can't get over the Green Bay game. He's not worth this headache. He's just not worth it. Get him traded
Your Hatred of B14CKMON is showing...
Do you not remember the recall for the Brand New tires of Firestone/Bridgestone? The tires that were defective. The tires that were causing accident. The tires that were Blowing Out. A person could've just driven away from the service of acquiring four Brand New tires and have a Blow Out. Have you ever heard of Road Hazards?
Your issue isn't of his latest incident. You issue is the recorded Fact that you individually or collectively Despise B14CKMON...
ADMIT IT... Wait, you already have admitted it... My Bad...

Well then you haven't really heard/read what I was saying. But that's OK. I appreciate your twist on my statements. It's very smart. You are a good debater. Just like most of the posters on here. But that doesn't excuse the fact that you aren't really understanding my point of view.
Of course, at the end of the day, both of our opinions are valid.
Quote:He did nothing wrong. Why does someone have to come out and say they've done nothing wrong whenever they do nothing wrong? He isn't being charged with anything. There is nothing to explain.
Just because you spend money on the jags, doesn't mean you have a right to his personal life. No more than you have the right to know what the cashier at the grocery store is doing if she has an accident at 3:30 in the morning or who she is with even if that means you will take your business elsewhere.
They make things for people like you. They call them restraining orders.
Yeah, I never understood why people obsess over actors, athletes, and other famous people what they do in their private life. I don't pay money to watch them because of that stuff. Does Blackmon's latest actions violate team or league rules? Would it effect his future with the team? The only thing that matters to me is how the Jaguars view this. I think Blackmon can contribute to the Jaguars with his talent so I'm hoping he's back. Never in my mind are professional entertainers role models and its silly to me to care about an incident unless he violated some league or team rules.
Quote:In high school I was in a car with a friend. We were driving down a two lane road when a dog ran into the road. He swerved to miss the dog, overcorrected and we ended up in a ditch. When the cops came, he had to take a sobriety test and they grilled him about there actually being a dog. It took probably over an hour but the cops let him go with no charges.
I told him next time, just hit the dog.
That's what I talking about... Maintain the evidence so that there is no question(s)...

Yeah, I don't like Blackmon. So?
Why should I be demonized for not liking him. He's been given so many opportunities and he's blowing all of them.
Sorry for being a jerk in your eyes.
But dude, the guy isn't worth worrying about. Just get rid of him.
And by getting rid of him, I just mean I don't want him to be a Jaguar. We have a culture we are creating here. A real culture. Not a non-sense Gene we Trust culture.
Caldwell and Bradley and Khan are the real deal. Why would we want to keep a dud from the old regime? Blackmon was a Gene Smith pick. Pull of the band-aide. Let's get rid.
It'll be the best thing we do. Besides the 6th round pick we got for Gabbert, of course.
Quote:Hey, don't worry. I don't understand it either. It's not like he's had an exemplary lifestyle.
You are right...he hasn't. But in this particular instance, he has done nothing wrong. Just because you and some others on here think it's wrong doesn't make it so! Holding him accountable for the things he's done wrong is fine...finding EVERYTHING he does wrong just makes for a judgmental horses behind.

You are correct.
I think what you are missing is that those of us that are critical of him are looking at this situation as a microcosm of his overall behavior.
At this point, you cannot give the dude the benefit of the doubt.
You get that, right?
EDIT........................... Below
I guess you could continue to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just wouldn't as a business owner. As a human being, of course I would give him that. I just would rather someone else have to deal with his headache in teams of his performance in our locker room.

I think the main point is that you are exaggerating the negative aspect of this incident because of other things that Blackmon has done in the past.
Justin Blackmon is a not a dud by any means. A dud does not have over 200 yards receiving in a football game, ever.
There's literally no reason to get rid of the guy. If he does something else to get banned from the league, who cares? He's gone either way. It's a low risk move. All I care about is the impact to the team, not whether I think he's a smart guy who makes good life decisions.

What happened this morning isn't a distraction. What he has done in the past has been a distraction, but if he is able to overcome and become a productive member of the team, he becomes a huge motivation for the team.

Wow! You've got your panties in a serious bunch.
If you had read my post before your rant you would have noticed I said "I don't have a "right to know" what he was doing. I do, however, have a right to ask what he was doing." Again, I suggest you read the 1st Amendment if you feel this comment rises to a level sufficient to support the issuance of a restraining order.
For about the 7th time, I never said he did anything wrong. I never even said he was being stupid for being out at that time. His reason(s) make be quite acceptable. I'm simply saying that if all is innocent, he's stupid for not simply addressing it, ending the speculation and being done with it.

Ok, I'll concede that. He was MONSTER in the the few games he played.
But think about that. How FEW games he's played for us.
Why has he played such few games? ---rhetorical question of course----

If he's "Not Worth Worring About" why do you continiously protray that the Jaguars "Get Rid of Him"???

How does he become a huge motivation? If he comes to the team, he'll be a distraction for the entire year. In my opinion, if/when he comes back everyone teammate will be asked about how he's doing and how they are responding to him.
It's a simple distraction, no doubt. You can easily can a response to that. But it's still something that every team-mate will worry about. How soon before Blackmon falls off the wagon.
His 3 AM "accident" doesn't help that narrative, does it?

If no details were available about the incident...you'd have a valid point. But the fact that he wasn't high, he wasn't drunk and he wasn't at fault for the accident, according to the police, means that you don't have to "give him the benefit of the doubt". That's what you do when you don't know the pertinent information to be able to make a judgement....

Because I don't think he's worth it. Have you read my other posts in this thread?
If not, go back and read them.
Here's a synopsis: I'm not impressed with his performance even when he played. I conceded the Houston game his rookie year and I thought I also was lights out in the Denver game this year. Other than that he's been more of a distraction than a beneift.
You can talk about his potential, but the reality is that he's been more of a distraction as to date than anything

Because that dud displayed top 3 receiving talent and because there's no point in releasing him or shipping him anywhere since his potential is still more valuable than the picks we'd get back?
