Quote:You are a clown trying to have a different opinion than others so you can come back if Watkins turns out to be a bust just to be the first to say "I told ya so."
Watkins' ability to score every time he touches the ball is what makes his game unbelievable. That's something we don't have on offense.
Umm, when he's not suspended, yes we do.
I also don't see a player that has the chance to score on every play outta Watkins. WHile he's quick and fast, you guys are overrating this aspect of him. I don't see "elite" explosiveness from him.
He'll be "just another good receiver" in the pro's you watch. - which is good to have....just not at 3 overall.
Quote:This is stupid, I've seen enough to make that statement. You act like you need to watch all 30+ of his college games from beginning to end to harbor opinions about a player. I've watched several of his games in college and have watched most of his youtube cut ups. Sorry, I don't see where the gushing is coming from. As said, in watching Blackmon in college, and many of his intermediate and deeper receptions he would make and then after those longer catches, still make moves on defenders to tack on extra yardage or take plays to the house, yeah - he looked like a guy that was going to be a big time impact player in the NFL, if not right away even....I do not get that feeling by watching Sammy Watkins and his 70% short pass / screen crap. Can I tell Sammy is talented? Sure, but he's not this "special" player that some of you insist. I definitely don't see Sammy as being all that successful right out of the gate. At least IMO. We'll see who winds up right.
Except Blackmon is not an impact player. He doesn't play.
So as of now, you are not Mr. Right with him.
Quote:Breaking: Jaguars hire Chad Morris as OC
That would need to be followed by, Breaking: every NFL DC has forgotten how to coach football for that to work.

I think his whole point is that at #3, you need an AJ Green, Megatron or Larry Fitz type player to justify that pick. Sammy Watkins is not on those guys level but I do think he is Julio Jones but more durable which is a big plus. Watkins is better than Blackmon because he will actually be on the field. I can totally see Watkins being an 85 1300 and 10 scorer for years (not rookie season of course)
I have no problems taking Watkins at #3 as long as we get a QB who won't under throw him on deep routes (ala Dalton to Green).

Again, this shows that you haven't watched him play much. His YAC ability is one of the best I've ever seen. And others agree apparently. He isn't mocked in the top 5 of every draft for no reason.

No. He's only doing this because if Watkins turns out to be a bust, he wants to be the first one to say he called it before the draft and yadda yadda yadda.
It's the same song and dance every year.

Those guys only come along once in a while. Just like the Clowney types at DE only come along once in a while.

Nobody is overrating anything
man you people will find anything to argue about.
Quote:So you are against 7 yard gains?
I love 7 yard gains, but your are not going to get many 7 yard gains in the NFL throwing bubble screens 63% of the time.
You would probably wind up with more 30 yard TDs going the other way.

It's like the "there is no Andrew Luck in this draft". Yeah, no kidding.
Quote:Most can see what he is doing.
He's against Mack and Watkins, the most likely picks, at 3.
Says he'd take guys (Bridgewater, Matthews) that have no shot at being the pick at 3.
Same game he plays every single year.
Then, why was I FOR drafting Blackmon 2 years ago?.....LOts of people on this board also wanted him (Blackmon) as the pick. I guess I'm just a
selective contrarian....LOL
Maybe, just maybe - I merely don't think Watkins is worth the selection.
Sorry that makes you, BigJohn98 and others, get your panties in a bunch. Your hero isn't going to be the player in the NFL you think he is. Deal with it.

63% of the time. Exaggerate much? The screen game is utilized in the NFL whether you know it or not. Nobody is suggesting it be used more than any other play. But its good to have a guy who can excel with it.
Quote:Players who make first team All-American as a freshman are special.
His Freshman season was almost unreal. In 10 starts he rolled up 82 catches, 1,200+ yards and 12 Touchdowns. As an 18 year old!!! Granted, he was up and down a bit and missed the NC State game that season but he is one of four players to ever be an AP First Team All American as a Freshman. The others that did it? Herschel Walker, Marshall Faulk and Adrian Peterson. That ain't bad company to be in.

But you want to reach for Bridgewater at 3? Who is the hero worshipper here?

Lol My friend... You have been wrong plenty of times about players. I am thinking you are going to be wrong about this one too.

No one will ever take your "evaluation skills" seriously after Dan LeFevour.

What the hell are you even talking about? I see what you're trying to do and you look like an idiot..

It's not that you don't like him. It's that your and Predator's reasoning for not liking him is one of the dumber things going on this board atm.

I have. So have we all. We'll see in time about this one.

LOL, citing all the pouting over my not jumping on board the Watkins bus, I'd dispute that.
