Stoutland would be the person Doug has coached with that I most want him to bring with him. That would be a huge oline upgrade, might even be an ok OC if Pederson is calling the plays.

that would be cool - Ertz is a free agent this year, right?
Yes. A one year rental would probably be good for us.
Too bad we didn’t do this last year. Pederson and Caldwell were my first choices initially. As the weeks passed, I really warmed up to BL and Wilson. But in the end, they get an experienced coach and EVP/GM in Spielman. Can’t get too upset about that. With the exception of keeping Baalke in the building, seems like Shad may have gotten it right. I’ve got to say, I think I’m excited to watch it all play out. Here’s to hoping this is the last coach search for a while.
Not that anyone cares, but Walter Football gave the Pederson hire a grade of D.

How is the Doug Pederson hire being viewed around the country? (news4jax.com)

Still haven't seen this happen yet.  Hope it does.

I don’t think anyone cares about a Walter Football, more so fascinated by how much unwarranted hate the Jags get from that joker.

Eh, who cares, that dude hates the Jags.  I've seen him talk really highly of a draft prospect but then completely change his tune when the jags draft that player.

I haven’t read the whole thread.  I’m sure some posted tweets.  But it’s being talked about on Twitter as if it’s a done deal after they meet the Rooney rule. That and a joint presser to announce them both.  But, you’re right.  Until it happens…

Walt's football knowledge is about on par with the average fan. Which is to say: He doesn't know football very much. His grades are based on results and nothing more, much like many fans.

I've seen a lot of things on Twitter that were pure speculation.  I hope it actually happens.

This is something I touched on in some other threads,  including yesterday on page 4 of the, Mr. Khan' FIRE BAALKE' thread.

In addition to the list from the tweet you shared (thanks),  in the 2015 NFL Draft, Rick Spielman traded down with the divisional opponent Lions ( sigh ) around 11 spots in Round 3 and still ended up with DE Danielle Hunter.

Most of the Vikings fans that wanted Rick Spielman's head had no clue or ignored the high skill level that Spielman used on accumulating draft picks.  I have no idea how the Vikings new GM will pan out but as a Lions fan I'm relieved that Rick Spielman is no longer running the Vikings drafts.

Yeah, most of the people who wanted Rick gone over drafting are the types to scoop their own eye out trying to eat cereal. I loved the way Rick drafted. Even last year, we all wanted Christian Darrisaw at 14, what does Rick do? He trades out of 14 when Darrisaw was there, picks up 2 3rd rounders (which turned out to be Kellen Mond and Wyatt Davis) and still gets Darrisaw at 23. That's "I just boned the entire league cause I can" level mastery.

Especially for a team that needs an infusion of talent like the Jags, Rick would be perfect.

The biggest problem in MN was stagnancy as a middle of the road team on the field. Not much Rick can do about that.
Doug is back in Jacksonville. I hope it works out better this time though.   Wink Cool

Oh wait its a different Doug.    Smile Smile

Welcome to Jacksonvile  Mr. Pederson.

All i ask of you is to be honest, and do your best to turn this team around. Don't ssay you will be winning in a year or to,or the O-line is fine.

Please be honest, and let the fans know the truth Jags need to fill a lot of postions, and  have a lot of hard work to  do to turn into winners.
Anyone know anything about this one? Seems pretty underwhelming to be reaching to small school OCs but I'm not sure.

Just look at what he has done in terms of finding talented WRs.

Diggs, Thielan, JJ, Osborn....

Not to mention all the studs he finds on defense. His main downside was not being able to find a great QB but that's a hard task. Spielman and Pederson bring some nice pedigree down to Jacksonville. Something that hasn't been here in a really really long time.

I really don't think anyone is objecting to the Pederson hire. I think a lot of people really like it (me included). It's the process that stinks. It's like they did a half court hook shot as time expired and it just so happened to go in.

I feel like box checking Rooney Rule interviews are a really bad move right now. Spielman should bring Jamaal Stephenson and another POC who he has worked with in to be interviewed with him with the idea that they will be a part of the new front office once it is restructured. That way you don’t have to waste anyone’s time and you fulfill the rule obligation.

Only that he was with Doug in 2020 as a pass game analyst.

Don't think he's coming in as an OC or QB coach though.

What ???  A coach that knows the value of good TEs?  Pederson even made Trey Burton into a good TE in Philly,

Heck, Urban was too focused on Tebow and his little boy toy @ OSU (Farrell) who was terrible this season.

I remember watching Ertz in a Cardinals game. He was an awesome target for Murray, and I was thinking, "MAN, I wish we'd gotten him!"
