A nice safe hire. It's what we need.

We can't afford to take a risk on an untried coach.

Phew... this would be one huge sigh of relief. Let's hope the Bisaccia family Twitter frenzy is because he'll be special teams coach and Fangio will be defensive coordinator. That would be a super haul. Also, get Spielman in there to overrule Baalke and demoralize him into resigning in a few months.

I would love the Bisaccia hiring as STC!

I am relieved!  Wish I were excited, but I'm not.  I had my heart set on Leftwich when that looked like it was a done deal.  Jim Caldwell was #1 for me.  But Pederson was definitely on the short list.

Now, get Spielman to run the front office and we're cool...

You mean take a risk on a failed head coach? I'll never get this line of thinking.
Meh. Not excited about it, would have really liked a Byron/Adrian combo, but I guess it could have been worse.

He didn’t really fail though. He was pushed out by the Eagles GM.

If you consider winning a superbowl in his tenure as a head coach a failure then sign me up for that same failure while he's here.
Great news for tlaw tho

Now how far into season before we call for his head to roll

We shall find out soon enough. I expect a fairly quick turn around. He is being touted as such (experienced, leader, SB champ, winner etc etc), so we better see the results fairly quickly.

Right and for daring to want to pick his own assistants. I know some people also brought up not talking with Wentz for a chunk of the season but he seemed pretty upset that he couldn't continue with Wentz and help him with the mental side.
Now we wait and see how the rest of the staff shapes up.

& preferably not Baalke making the decisions.
I honestly don't care if we don't win a SB with him (as long as he doesn't stay for long if he doesn't). The team is a mess and I just want him to help Trevor develop.

I stand by my prediction 6-8 wins this year if we get a better GM and have a good FA and draft.
Am sure he won't stay behind in Philly to go to the bar.
Ice Cream for everyone!

I think that was his point.

I dunno... Blake Bortles vs. Nick Foles. It's a tossup. Eagles offense was better overall, but Jaguars defense was better. I'd go with the Eagles because their coaching was more aggressive.

If we still have Trent Baalke as GM, that’s a very unreasonable expectation. We still need good talent to win and if Baalke doesn’t like Peterson’s way of doing business, he’s willing to draft bad talent on purpose and then convincing a football-acumen-lacking Shad Khan that it’s Doug’s fault.
These are some of the most stupid posts I've ever seen. You really think he's going to sabotage his career for vindication? Ridiculous. And I don't know why all of you hyheanas are bellyaching about Baalke anyhow. Most of his transgressions seem to have come when he was with the Niners. Why do you give a rat's [BLEEP]? In looking at things objectively, his draft last year was pretty good.

Almost every Coach failed at one point.

Fun Fact!  Bill Belichick had a 36-44 record with the Browns.   Does that mean he sucks because of your statement?

Know who else could be considered a failed head coach at one point?

Andy Reid, Tom Coughlin and Bill Belicheck.

Is Pedersen guaranteed success?

No.

But I am quite confident in saying he'll be a vast improvement over Urban Meyer.

Let's go get Spielman now.
Good news but the snake is still there and the Jags are behind on hiring a staff

Going from 3-14 to almost .500 would be an amazing improvement.  Thats coach of the year stuff.
