Even last year, we all wanted Christian Darrisaw at 14, what does Rick do? He trades out of 14 when Darrisaw was there, picks up 2 3rd rounders (which turned out to be Kellen Mond and Wyatt Davis) and still gets Darrisaw at 23. That's "I just boned the entire league cause I can" level mastery.

Especially for a team that needs an infusion of talent like the Jags, Rick would be perfect.

The biggest problem in MN was stagnancy as a middle of the road team on the field. Not much Rick can do about that.
Just look at what he has done in terms of finding talented WRs.

Diggs, Thielan, JJ, Osborn....

Not to mention all the studs he finds on defense. His main downside was not being able to find a great QB but that's a hard task. Spielman and Pederson bring some nice pedigree down to Jacksonville. Something that hasn't been here in a really really long time.

I really don't think anyone is objecting to the Pederson hire. I think a lot of people really like it (me included). It's the process that stinks. It's like they did a half court hook shot as time expired and it just so happened to go in.

Oh, the process can piss you off to no end. Hell, we just rolled out the red carpet for Harbaugh like we haven't since Brett Favre came to town and the owners didn't even offer him a contract. They're messing with a city that has a black belt in rioting...

But in the end if ya get the right guy, then it was the right process.

How is the Doug Pederson hire being viewed around the country? (news4jax.com)

What he said is it wrong?  "Doug Pederson was praised early in his career for winning a Super Bowl and developing Carson Wentz, but we soon discovered that it was his surrounding coaching staff that was largely responsible for that. The Eagles collapsed once the great assistant coaches departed, while Wentz regressed at a rapid pace. The Eagles fired Pederson shortly later."
Yeah, Pederson's failure to competently replace his top assistants is definitely his biggest red flag with me. The time lost by taking forever with the coaching search sure isn't helping either. Wonder if we could have gotten Kafka or Joe Brady or someone if we had hired Pederson weeks ago.

To the bold text, where are those assistants now ? Somewhere achieving greatness or not so much? Curious but I don't feel like researching them. If you know, thanks.

Well, Reich was his OC, but other than that, I don't know of anyone else obvious.

Clearly all of Wentz's success in Philly was due to Reich considering how great he was last year.

"Great assistant coaches" lol. Wentz was injured at a rapid pace.  Only if Reich had Wentz last year they could of made the playoffs, oh wait.  Jim Schwartz isn't even the DC in Ten. lol
Can someone please tell me what Pederson does great and what he doesn't do great? Why is this hire so much more amazing than Leftwich or Flores? I want out team to succeed, is he the best option? I mean, I never really cared for Meyer much... hope Pederson has this team competing. No reason to suck for like 10 years straight minus an anomaly season.

I think Pederson's experiences have been covered throughout this thread, but you can get a good sense of his accomplishments from this article

Thank you I don't have time to read threads with many pages and to summarize. I am working often on the road. Thank you again friend.
Just waiting for the other shoe to drop....
Introductory press conference tomorrow at noon. In attendance will be Pederson, Shad, Baalke...and no Spielman.

I'm starting to get anxious again.

Dilla said Spielman and Pederson is doing their presser together so this can't be true.
Ignore the silly defense of the worst oline coach of our generation, and it looks like we have found our oline coach:

EDIT: Someone in the comments is saying the Bills are getting him instead so who knows.

Looks like the Bills wanted him but he jumped ship after the Pederson hire, nice. About time we got rid of Warhop. That's a Spielman hire. Was with the Vikings the last couple years

What I hate about that whole take is making Race the feature of the article.

Why do we have to say "black coach" It isn't like we call every white coach "white coach"

Judge a man on his merits and accomplishments not the color of his skin.  I hate this whole new age pc/cancel culture who like to label everything.
Being able to get the 36-year-old Rauscher would represent a victory for the Bills because of his success implementing wide-zone blocking schemes that were first popularized by the Denver Broncos, who won back-to-back Super Bowls in the 1990s.

He is a disciple of Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan, the former head coach of the Raiders. As such, he should fit the vision of coach Sean McDermott and new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey just fine.
A young up and coming coach like a lot want. With his scheme I think Cam is gone.
Yes, please!! we have suffered enough with Warhop
