It'd be interested if he were hired, maybe that would give the Jags a leg up if Olivier Vernon hits free agency. The familiarity with Lou along with the boatload of cash the Jags can offer.

Are you "ph pleaseing" because you're from Brooklyn and you disagree with the staten island take?
Quote:I like this quote about him from his former HS Coach, Al Patruzo:

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"...as for having a lot of Staten Island in him, Patruzo explains it this way. 'It means we all have a little edge to us,' Patruzo said. 'We can deal with everybody, any problem, anything that comes our way. We are the forgotten borough in New York and it gave us that little extra edge
.'"
Say ello to ma litt-el frien

Yes, staten island is not treated any differently than Brooklyn, Queens etc.

Sometimes, perceived slights are even more effective than actual ones.

I happen to think Brooklyn is a pretty cool place. If I lived in NY, if I could afford it, that's where I would go.

Yes. The MJD factor. # 32 cuz 32 teams passed on me. Whatever works for you. I'm impressed by folks who can light their own fire.

Yes, it is a good place. Alot of different cultures, plenty to see. I mean, you have your good parts where i live and they're some bad parts.
Has there been anymore news on our front? I'm guessing we won't get anything finalized until after Senior Bowl, but was just curious. I haven't seen anything recently.

GO JAGS!

I would suspect that maybe somebody on a current playoff team could be a candidate.  I have been impressed with Arizona (minus the play for nothing game in week 17)

They've already said they aren't waiting on any candidates that are in the playoffs.
If Jim Caldwell gets fired Teryl Austin would be a fantastic hire at DC.
Nobody worth talking about is coming here on a possible 1 year deal. We'll have to settle on someone in house or some no name
All these people with one year stuff.  DC don't care if it is 1 or 5 years.  Because the body of their work is on their resume.  If feel it is the right place at the time.  Any coach would do it.   Coaches are not fans.  They want to be employed like anyone else.

I've said this before but it bears repeating.   This is a very attractive place for a DC to land, because of the fact that we are going to spend heavily on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, draft picks and free agents, and whoever the DC winds up being will inevitably do a lot better than Bob Babich, because of the simple fact that they will have much better players.  Therefore, their resume will say they took a bad defense and got it to middle of the pack.   That looks really good on a resume.

Even if it's a one year deal, they will be able to say, "The 2015 Jaguars were 31st (or whatever we were) in total defense, they brought me in as coordinator, and I got them to 15th the very next year."

I would preferably not like to hire a big name for our DC this year. It's Gus's make or break year, he needs to take accountability for the defense and play calling since that's why he was hired. A bigger name would want more defensive power.

I could go either way on this. Khan's statement after announced Gus' return is why it doesn't matter to me. It gave me patience for one more year. We now know Gus is officially on the hot seat and us as fans are on the same page with ownership and can call for his head if he doesn't win next year. For some reason that gives me patience to wait out another year. I guess because we know there would be an end in sight. All I want is to see them win. If Gus calls plays, hires a "puppet", an up an comer o a big name it doesn't matter. Either they win or not. If they win games next year, I don't care if Mickey Mouse is calling plays. If they keep losing and have a big name(or anyone for that fact) it won't matter. Gus would be gone. It's really a win-win situation for the fans. We either get a new coach or we see our favorite team winning games.
