Quote:He also said no to monte kiffin. He def didn't recognize that one.

Was probably looking for Lane, the inferior of the Kiffins.
Quote:I would love to hire Mangini.

If he fails and he gets fired, I hope it doesn't hurt his Mangini
The Dallas Cowboys secondary coach Jerome Henderson is interviewing with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the open DC slot.

-a league source told ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer from Mike DiRoccoESPN Staff Writer

Henderson has been with the Cowboys since 2012. The Cowboys gave up the fifth-fewest yards (3,632) and third-fewest TD passes (19) in the NFL in 2015. However, the Cowboys intercepted just eight passes, one fewer than the Jaguars did.

He is the 2nd secondary coach interviewed for the DC job.

The question that comes to mind is how much would Gus Bradley be willing to change the Jaguars Defensive Scheme?   Unless Bradley is very flexible with this,  Eric Mangini would seem like a square peg in a round hole.
To me the Defense is part of why they hired Gus Bradley after 3 years of failure he should simply run the Defense himself (in order to prove himself as a HC), but it doesn't seem to look like that is going to happen.

I would hate to see them bring in a DC that doesn't do his scheme and him use that as another excuse of failure.

Quote:Well considering he was put in charge of the run game defense and our run defense was by far and away our best part of our defense last year maybe a promotion is warranted..
The best part of a terrible defense..... Good call. He should be great.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Mike McCarthy coordinated the 32nd ranked offense before being named HC of the Packers. I'm sure their fans aren't complaining now.

Lol ok.

I'm convinced.

Championship.

No need to convince you.

Worst team ever.

London bound.

London bound.... Lolz

What's a more likely scenario:

Wash is hired DC and the defense makes a drastic improvement

Or

Wash is hired and we see more of the same

This team is talented and I think it's just being wasted by bad coaching. The bad HC hires his own guy to come up and continue his bad defense.

Now watch us go out and throw tons of money at all these studs and the defense ends up being good. I'd love it.....
If Gus is serious.  Will grab the best to save his job.

So we're interviewing another secondary coach for the defensive coordinator position. Looks like the writing's on the wall for DeWayne Walker.

Should the Jaguars consider hiring Florida's Defensive back (no longer) Kirk Callahan as it's DB coach?

I don't think the hiring of a DB's coach as the new DC automatically effects Walker's position. Babich is a LB coach but while he was the teams DC the team still had Robert Saleh as the LB coach.

Perhaps the new DC wants to bring a DB coach along with him but only time will tell.
Quote:Just promoting another yes man in Wash.... Brilliant.

If it's broke, don't fix it.
How do you know Wash is a "yes man?"
For those of us unfamiliar with Tim Lewis (who, according to PFT, may be out in SF)

lewis looks like a man not afraid of a challenge.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an answer.

Would it be in Walsh's best interest to be a yes man if he was promoted?  Or would he benefit most by trying to turn this defense into a respectable unit?  I love the MB experts who immediately think he's a yes man just because he'd be an internal promotion.  It's as if Walsh doesn't have a career to think about.

Yeah, my mistake.  For some reason the L just kept finding it's way in there.

Regardless, I don't think he's the yes man some geniuses here might want to portray.
