So are we going to hire anyone anytime soon?
Quote:So are we going to hire anyone anytime soon?

Should know by tomorrow... Monday at the latest.

Ryan O'Halloran a few hours ago answered to someone who asked on twitter how could happen that Wash was going to be promoted (since Ryan O' a few weeks earlier said Jags were not interested in promoting him) and said that experienced coordinators didn't return Gus calls and so they are now considering Wash as the most viable option.

Don't know if it's how it went or it's just Ryan O' speculation.

He's been known to pull things out of thin air so take that for what it's worth

Ryan O' is just trying to defend his own failed speculations.

Again.

You should look at the "tweet and replies"section. It's from around 4 hours ago, if you click on view conversation you'll see the entire discussion with rpettross (another user).

Anyway I don't know Ryan O' well enough so i trust you guys that he might just be defending his wrong prediction, just thought it was Worth sharing the tweet Smile

All I see is @rpettross catching O'Halloran back peddling about his stance on Wash as DC.
@ryanohalloran @rpettross Once Gus' calls weren't getting returned by experienced coordinators. He evolved as the choice if compared to the other three.

Thats a little embarrassing.

That doesn't really make sense to me because, in my opinion, we interviewed the best available defensive coordinator (Schwartz). I'm trying to think of some of the other potential big names out there and they're all fired head coaches who don't have a job anywhere right now (Mike Pettine, Lovie Smith, and Jim Tomsula). Really the only experienced coordinator that signed anywhere this season was Mike Smith.

Thanks dogg!

Why do you think this is happening? Is the record a problem?

Candidates probably think Gus is on his way out. Don't want a 1 year deal.

This is the most likely scenario imo.
We're going to hire from within or some sorry position coach. Nobody worth a crap is dumb enough to take this dumpster fire job called Jags Defensive Coordinator and run Gus's stupid defense

I've never really bought this concept. Don't most coaches essentially work off of a one-year deal anyway? If they aren't, are you sure that you want them on your staff? Granted, there are guys like Sullivan and others who just really want to be positional coaches, but don't you want a guy who is trying his best in order to get promoted? And don't you want to avoid the guys who are worried about Job Security?
O Halloran is an idiot. He takes pot shots at Gus any chance he gets. I would not trust what he says. Take it with a grain of salt because he absolutely dogs Gus any chance he gets.

Also, he has the most punchable face in the history of faces.

He's a Vikings fan, anyways. I'm not sure why just because he has a diploma in sports journalism he thinks his hot takes are anything more than that. He should stick to the facts and do less baseless accusing on twitter.

Not a good sign!

That's an entertaining approach.
