I'll do it.

Speculative, for the most part, but comprehensive. Several names on that list I could live with, although I still think we're going to end up with the linebackers or defensive backs coach from a team that runs a similar scheme.

Quote:No one is making a lateral move to a lame duck coach on the last year of his contract.
Don't be so sure about that. Say a guy like Lovie Smith wants to get back onto the head coach express. If he comes into Jacksonville, the defense looks good and the team is successful, he's on the short list for head coaching jobs again. If the defense looks good but the team as a whole is bad enough to get Bradley fired, either during or after the season, he becomes a logical choice for the first shot at an interview. That could apply to any number of guys on that list. The thing making the Jags' DC job unattractive would be uncertainty around just how the defense will be fixed, and what personnel changes will happen to improve on last year's product.

Still, though, if an established guy who wants a head job is ok with the scheme and trusts Caldwell to bring in enough talent to make it work, the Jaguars job could end up being an appealing one. I still think we end up with a lower-tier guy, partly because I question just how much control Gus is willing to give up, but the idea of a higher profile coordinator doesn't seem as ridiculous to me as it initially did.

Quote:Has there been anymore news on our coaching search? It's been quiet lately
Senior Bowl, probably, is where we'll hear more. As I recall, the Jags interviewed a couple of OC candidates last year, Kirby Wilson among them, before the Senior Bowl, but did the bulk of their work there.

I see other teams making staff changes and hiring yet the Jags are quiet.....very quiet.

We no doubt will again hire some nobody that is unproven.  We don't hire proven coaches outside of sulivan

Senior Bowl, baby. That's where the magic happens for coordinators and position coaches.

Define "unproven"

Greg Olson: 13 years in the NFL, former (and current) OC

Doug Marrone: 23 years in coaching, 9 in the NFL. Former head coach at Syracuse and for the Bills

Jerry Sullivan, we know.

Kelly Skipper: eight years with the Raiders before moving to Jacksonville

Todd Wash: highly-regarded position coach in multiple NFL stops

DeWayne Walker: 26 years coaching, 8 in the NFL, former NCAA FBS head coach (albeit a bad one)

There are lots of unprovens on this staff, yeah, but it's not like Bradley has shied away from ever hiring anyone with a resume worth discussing or a reputation behind them.

More than likely. Would love to land Schwartz but im hearing he might return to the Titans.
Quote:I keep thinking there might be someone on Seattle's staff that Gus knows and would be able to come over and call the plays.
This is my bet. I expect Gus is waiting for the play offs to be over before he makes his move. I wouldn't be shocked at all if our new DC comes from Seattle.

Proven = lauded by a talking head in a cheap suit on television / social media.
Jags are interviewing former Dolphins interim DC Lou Anarumo.

Tweet from Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) - #Jaguars interviewing Lou Anarumo, who finished '15 as Dolphins' interim DC, today for defensive coordinator post.

Unproven = somebody that I don't agree with
Tweet from Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) - Atlanta assistant Marquand Manuel interviewed here Tuesday. ... Told #Jaguars aren't waiting for a candidate currently in playoffs.

Thanks!

"Anarumo couldn't have gotten off to a much better start. In his first game as coordinator, all the defense did was register six sacks, force four turnovers - returning one for a touchdown - and hold the Tennessee Titans to a very unimpressive 10 points."

I do remember that after Coyle was fired that their defense seem to tighten up and a unit that was struggling to register sacks even with Suh on the line seem to play a little better and was finally able to begin racking up the sacks.

I would love our team to have a game like this! I don't care of the coordinator is "proven" or not, just someone that's able to get the most out of our players.
Gus is holding out hope Pete Carol loses on the final play of the SB again, gets fired, then he can hire him as DC.

Dis uhh, Lou guy, eh? Uhhh... wus' he look-like?
I like this quote about him from his former HS Coach, Al Patruzo:

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"...as for having a lot of Staten Island in him, Patruzo explains it this way. 'It means we all have a little edge to us,' Patruzo said. 'We can deal with everybody, any problem, anything that comes our way. We are the forgotten borough in New York and it gave us that little extra edge
