Quote:I'd be happy to score above 20....Considering that 26 of the 32 teams are averaging 20+ a game, I don't consider that a lofty goal...yet we haven't accomplished that once this year.
In Jedd Fisch's 21 games as Jags OC, the Jags have only scored 20 or above five times. Thats bad.
TMD > Brandt
C'mon all just he knows that.
Look we all know who is over is head and who gives it. Let it rest
Quote:I have some serious doubts about this team now that I never thought I'd experience with this staff. Bradley seemed like the kind of coach that would pump some new life into this team and organization but there is nothing to indicate that we are going to be a good team much less a great team under this regime. We have some guys who can make some plays on game day and all I see is the same repetitive mistakes and bad game management and play calling on both sides of the ball. So far all I'm seeing is Gus singing praises of a winless team and how we're showing up and have spirit. That doesn't mean crap in the NFL. You either get it done or you don't... and thus far, he is failing on an epic scale.
Let's see where we're at at the end of this season.
I'm not sure what you guys want Gus to say in front of the cameras or on the radio? You want him trashing his team? Not his style. But, he's not just singing their praises, and I think making that assertion is either an indication you're not listening to him, or you're ignoring the things he's saying. He's been critical of his team and pointed out where mistakes have been made by players and coaches. He's never once shied away from that when asked. He just won't trash a player or coach in front of the media. He's not full of endless praising, but he is going to give kudos where he can. Gus is a positive guy. Absolutely nothing wrong with that approach.
Quote:The burden of proof doesn't lie with me, I wasn't the one offering Brandt's opinions to back Fisch.
And Brandt's credentials speak for themselves, as do yours, cookie.

TMD would be over his head in a puddle of spit.
Quote:Oh really? Look at Russell Wilson's first 3 games, and Andrew Luck's they didn't trend worse each game in their first 3.
My issue is Bortles is trending backwards in every game. Thats on coaching.
Oh. Ok. So it wasnt Gabberts fault. Dang. Shoulda kept him
Quote:And Brandt's credentials speak for themselves, as do yours, cookie.
The last time he worked for an NFL team was 1988. Reagan was in office. LOL.
Again, whats Brandts RECENT track record with his predictions/ takes?
Quote:Oh. Ok. So it wasnt Gabberts fault. Dang. Shoulda kept him
No one said Gabbert wasn't also a bad QB, but he too, suffered from poor coaching. Probably worse coaching than even Bortles is getting.
Coaching doesn't really make or break a QB all that much. Otherwise Jim the Great would have done something with Gabbert the goober.
Anyway, 6 Quarters of football doesn't equal a trend.
It's like when people say "nine out of tend doctors ____", all they do is go and ask as many doctors as they can until they get the results they want. And even if they do find 10 doctors, and 9 of them agree, that doesn't mean that 90% of doctors agree. It's not a proper sample size.
If we continue to see regression, then it'll be a trend. 6 Quarters isn't an ample sample size. 16 full quarters of play would be a more adequate sample size (1/4th of a season)

So Harbaugh is bad too? From what we've seen of Gabbert, he hasnt improved, one iota in SF
Besides, does Bradley coach QBs? Maybe Im wrong. But when the thread says he is in over his head, and you lump in BB in regressing ( after ALL these games) are you blaming that on him, or all the other coaches?
In other words, per TMD, fire them all, start over....again!!!

How do we know that Harbaugh won't do something with Gabbert??
Harbaugh has a proven track record. by the end of his first season, he had Alex Smith playing very well, and Smith himself was very Gabbert-esque before Harbaugh arrived.
Fisch gets no benefit of the doubt as he has no track record of success in this realm.

Right, because he stopped working after leaving the Cowboys.
I didn't think it was possible, but you have proven that things can get dumber with time.
Brandt has been a senior draft analyst for the NFL for more than 20 years. He loses more football knowledge with his morning constitution than you'll ever dream of having.

I guess he did all that for trade bait with KC.

Wait. 6 quarters of football isn't enough of a sample to fully evaluate a player or his coach? Say it ain't so.

Smith was starting to show improvement before Jim Harbaugh arrived. In fact his rating was above 80 for the two years prior to his arrival.
Let's get this thread back on topic. Is Bradley in over is head? To me, I think he's learning. Unfortunately, how do you tell if a coach is doing well? Halftime adjustments are a good indicator. Until we see some adjustments that work and stop getting obliterated after halftime, the jury is still out.
But that's my opinion. If y'all wanna comment on the topic go ahead....or we can just have this continual cat fight between TMD and FBT.

We saw that improvement this past week vs. Pittsburgh. That game was never out of hand.

Yep, to get the return he got for Smith in that trade when at Harbaugh's arrival Smith had zero trade value was impressive.

If he's got so much knowledge then is should be easy to give me some examples of his correct predictions in recent years.
Quote:Wait. 6 quarters of football isn't enough of a sample to fully evaluate a player or his coach? Say it ain't so.
Theres nothing wrong with Bortles the player. He's already shown better than he's regressed to over these last 6 quarters. Coaching, bad coaching is the issue.
Quote:Smith was starting to show improvement before Jim Harbaugh arrived. In fact his rating was above 80 for the two years prior to his arrival.
Alex Smith was garbage before Harbaugh arrived. Then in one season Smith is making plays and leading his team to the NFCC game, and even played well and made big plays in that stage. None of that ever would have happened without Harbaugh.

Yep they usually are....
Do we make any??
Quote:We saw that improvement this past week vs. Pittsburgh. That game was never out of hand.
LOL, Pittsbugh's defense is middle of the road at best this year, and they were missing one of their best players (Shazier). And we put up 9 points.
How's that "improvement" from prior weeks?

Threads always get derailed with FBT....
