Quote:What has their former QB done since being benched? He was done. They didn't bench him to tank. They benched him because he sucked. Being the all time leader and all that good stuff is irrelevant if your skills have fallen off a cliff.
Schaub was still better than Keenum. And they also had T.J. Yates who was better than both. So yes, they chose to play their worst QB, presumably to see if he was worth anything, since they had given up on the season at that point. They probably tried out other backups too, although I'm not that familiar with them to say for sure. Is that 'tanking?' I don't think it's unreasonable to put what they did in that category.
And Schaub's failure with the Raiders is hardly proof that he's done, I think Peyton Manning would struggle with that team.

Sen'Derrick Marks.

I don't know if all these players would be starters, (because of youth), but I think theres lots of quality talent on this roster - that just needs to be developed properly.
The only area of this roster that I still have serious issues with is the LB, and 2 of the DB (Gratz/ the revolving door FS) McCray and Cyprien are locks for their positions going forward so I'm okay with them, and RB could use an upgrade from Toby (Storm?)
QB is fine, WR is fine, OL is fine, IMO, DL is fine, ST's are fine...

He struggled with Andre Johnson as one of his targets in 2013. It wasn't the team that fell off a cliff. He did. His struggles in Oakland are indicative of a guy who is simply done.
Gil Brandt also said we are making the playoffs this year. Fwiw
Quote:Brandt also said that Fisch is a tremendous coach, and a guy that is destined to be a head coach in the league at some point.
This was sarcasm, right?
I mean, why even post this... Based on Fish's track record, mentioning this really makes the opposite of your arguement.
Brandt has lost his ability to analyze NFL football if he thinks Fish is a "tremendous" coach based on what we've seen so far!

LOL....Brandt's really batting 1.000 lately with his takes, isn't he?....

I respect Gil alot with his knowledge of draft prospects. I think maybe he is just a year or two early with his prediction.

LOL, then its a [BLEEP] prediction.
Hell anyone can make the "year or 2 early" excuse when wrong in similar team predictions.
TMD I am listening to OZZY and Randy right now. First time in years that is weird you changed your Avatar

fixed
TMD, the Chargers are one of the best teams in the NFL right now, and we kept it close at the half. We held the third best offense in the league to 10 points.
The song and dance at the beginning of the year was "wins don't matter! Being competitive does!" Truthfully, we have been in 3/5 games.
Man, patience is just abandoned here.
if anyone else started this thread it would be dead in 2 pages. And u wonder why he keeps coming back

He's only back because the admins let him back...again. Dude gets suspended every couple months and is allowed back.

The problem is, after we kept it close for a half, we went to a more conservative play on offense. The more aggressive play style was working, and then we changed. I'm curious as to why it did.
I don't believe any of our coaches are in 'over their head', but I will say this..... a coach is not paid for his methods, but for his results.

I agree. But the point is, we have flashes of actually being a good team against good competition. We can't even come close to saying that about last year's squad.
