Oh, you can? So, is that what they are doing with the renovation of EverBank Stadium?

So, that addresses the lipstick they put on the decrepit, bleacher-filled, Lambeau how?

You messed up the saying....You *can't put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. Now you are rattled and trying to hide your jealousy.

Your envy of Lambeau Field, and the most successful franchise in the history of the NFL is painfully obvious.

No worries, the Jags are on the come up. With my guidance you could become a decent and knowledgeable NFL fan soon as well. Most Jags fans are already there, but you are a slow learner, I get it.

Rattled.  Yes, extremely rattled by some snobby visiting fan that has graced us by coming to our lowly message board to impart his 'wisdom' on us.  Good grief, what a joke.

Yes, I’m so envious of sitting on a plank with no back support.  This is the 21st century.

Never been to an iconic stadium I gather. I would suggest a trip to Notre Dame Stadium first for you. You are not ready for Lambeau Field yet. That is the shrine of the National Football League. We will let you know when you are ready for that bucket list item.

Have a nice rest of the weekend...I know I will!

I won’t bother telling you all of the baseball, football, basketball and hockey field/arenas that I’ve been to because frankly I don’t think it makes a bit of difference.  And more appropriately, I don’t particularly care if you know.  I’m already retired and have done and been more places in my lifetime than you, at least say that you have done.  As far as whether you believe me...I don't really care because the people that know me here know the truth.

You know why.  IT DOESN’T MATTER.  You see, me…I realize that.  But you seem to think it somehow makes you ‘better’ than other fans/teams/arenas because you've seen other things that they MAY not have.

You remind me a lot of my in-laws when we would kick the Steelers [BLEEP].  “Well at least we have tradition”.  I’m not originally from Jacksonville and I’m currently living just outside of Dallas.  All of my wife’s family is from Pittsburgh.

As far as having a good weekend.  I have a good life in general.  I work at a golf course three days a week for something to do and play the rest of the time.  I wish I could play better but multiple sports related injuries and age in general make it difficult.

So yeah. I have a good life.  So don’t be too concerned about that.  I know I’m not.

I challenge you to find where I said I am better than anyone.

If you actually read this thread, I never cut on Jags fans or even the stadium. If you read the thread it's Jags fans that are attempting to trash me and Lambeau Field. For what? It's amusing.

This all started because I said I have been to all the other NFL stadiums and I rank EverBank stadium last. One stadium has to be last. And there are reasons they are wanting to renovate it. At present, it's the worst place to watch an NFL game IMO. That isn't slamming the fan base. That isn't saying I am better, that is just my experience having been to every venue in the NFL.

I will be at EverBank this season again, hope to see some of you there. Should be a good time overall. I've said before here, that I get along famously with Jags fans in person.

The end.

Nearly every major business (e.g. Fortune 500 company) looking to build a major factory or headquarters pits cities, counties, and states against each other in order to get major tax breaks and benefits, and cities, counties, and states normally always give in. And that internal competition doesn't really happen in other countries as much. It also ends up pitting small cities and counties against full countries.

So why would it be any different for professional sports teams and city stadiums?

Actually no issue with anybody. Everyone is imperfect. I just avoid arrogant people as it is a tiring process dealing with them and shows one of their fatal character flaws.  (that Packer guy) He doesn't know what his main calling card is right?

ps I am Packer stockholder...lol

Trust me, when I say this individual is REALLY mad that Lambeau Field is on nearly everyone's list for the best stadium & game day experience in the NFL.
Has zero clue the Packers have renovated the stadium several times over the years, and upwards of 400 million was spent just last year on projects updating the stadium. Spend 80 million a year just on stadium upkeep. And another 525 million recently spent on new facilities at the stadium, including new coaches offices, meeting rooms, an expanded CRIC & underground parking for the players etc....

Many iconic stadiums keep the stadium bowl and bleacher seats in the main bowl because going to another model would reduce capacity greatly. Notre Dame Stadium, the Big House, Ohio Stadium, Beaver, etc...All keep some or all of their main bowl intact. Lambeau holds over 81 thousand and over 20K of those seats are not in the iconic main bowl nor bleacher seats.

Posting lies online helps him sleep at night, I guess.

Also willing to bet he has NEVER stepped foot near 1265 Lombardi Avenue.

Too funny.

Challenge accepted and completed.

Speaking authoritatively implies your belief that your skill is better than others. Not much of a challenge, dude.
The Chiefs got voted down for their and the Royals tax for 40 years to improve Arrowhead and build a new baseball stadium.

It's an interesting input for the city. Not sure a city wide vote would pass in Jacksonville either, so I wonder if this impacts how the city reps will vote on the funds.

Sure it does but a trip to grocery store these days will make you balk.
Seems like Khan better hire better people than Weaver hired for the new scoreboards.

It certainly brings skepticism to that phrase, doesn’t it?

They wouldn't be increasing the tax rate. They currently have a Jackson County 3/8% sales tax that only funds Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums and runs through 2031 paid. They were going to repeal that tax and the add back a 3/8% tax that would include the Royals Stadium and extend the tax for 40 years.

It will total $1 billion in tax revenue over 40 years, but the crazy part is they would have to use $200 million to pay off debt they have on their Truman Sports Complex, $500 million would go to interest leaving the Royals with $300 million to pay for a $1 billion dollar stadium.

The Royals planed on coming up with another tax deal with the State of Missouri and just KC proper and not the whole county to cover the $700 million shortfall.

They also was an issue with the lease agreement between the the two teams and the county that never got fully negotiated before the vote with the drafts made public just a few days before the vote and were apparently very once sided for the teams.

Another thing to consider is that the population of Jackson County is almost 300k less than Duval and not growing, so the tax burden could start to weigh heavy on Jackson County and KC especially since they haven't even come up with the actual plan to pay the remaining $700 million. Jackson County could find itself already committed to selling the municipal bonds for the 1st billion before the the $700 million fund raising gets finalized leaving the Royals in a very advantageous position that could allow them to exploit KC on the terms of the new funding because they would be financially committed to build the new stadium and the Royals could start saying the underestimated the actual cost and basically extort the city for more money.

That happened in 2018

Khan bought the team in 2011.

Weaver had nothing to do with those scoreboards going in in 2014.

The team fired the guy as soon as they learned he had failed to disclose his status as a sex offender. His stupid attempt to hack the scoreboards after being fired got him into way more trouble than he bargained for. What a moron.
