Florio stated that he believe when an Owner and the City agree to a deal, it should be final.  However, the NFL owners have to approve the deal.  He stated that he did not agree with this secondary approval process because the owners could reject the deal and send Shad back to the City and demand more money. so in his view, he states that he hopes like hell that then don't send Shad back BUT the 50% side of chaos for the sake of newsworthy purposes hopes they send him back (but that was tongue in cheek).  He emphasized that he hopes the deal gets approved by the owner but wanted to stress how stupid the owners required approval is in this process.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE WATCH THE VIDEO AND FORM THEIR OWN OPINION.

Sure, form your own opinion, but also don't wind up being dense in an attempt to be the virtuous fence straddler.  He told you what he wants to see happen whether he used hedging language or not.  He wants the league to stick it to the taxpayers of Duval county in a worse manner than what has been agreed to or he wants to see the franchise ripped from the local market and placed in London because it would give him easy content to write and talk about that would get a [BLEEP] ton of clicks.  With all due respect, [BLEEP] him.

Florio has been talking about the Jags moving to London for a long time.  Here are just two examples.  There are many more.

I know that .... I'm just saying people's overreaction to Florio's NEW clip is severely flawed.  Most likely because they are taking into account his past comments and overlooking what he really stated on the recent video.

Florio is a lazy guy who reads everyone else and when he needs clicks writes a contrarian article.  I quit reading him a bit ago as what he wants or thinks never is a concern of the decision makers.  (the NFL owners)

Who over reacted?  I said he was pretty reasonable up until at the 4:25 mark he's admitting that part of him wants the league to reject the deal for the sake of chaos' (and by extension his business).  He can say whatever he wants to lessen the blow leading up to those words, but he still made the admission which he probably should have kept to himself. You're extending an awful lot of grace by framing it as tongue in cheek with his history.  If he gets his wish, at least "he'll have our back" as he stated right after.  I think we'd all trade the Jaguars away for Florio's approval and adulation of Jacksonville.  (that was tongue in cheek)
If you listen to any talking head on tv or radio and believe them, you are doing it wrong.

The agreement has been completed this type of action is done.  Now take a look at it. Currently we have a 17 game season it has been expanded from 16 games that gave us 8 home games. This means every other year we have our 8 homes games and eventually when they go to an 18 game season we will have 8 every year. I can see every team moving to playing one of their home games out of the country as the league continue to want to expand their footprint.

This is the direction they're headed in. The last few years they have now had a game in Germany and I believe Mexico. They're now adding Brazil into the mix this year.

Japan and Australia also feel like ideal locations to expand the International series. Since we're already playing football at some capacity in Japan and we have Rugby players in the mix within the NFL from Australia.

Your exactly right. That's the path the league has been putting a lot of time and effort into for a few years now. I think the Mexico game has been put on hold the last couple of years as they are renovating the stadium for the world cup but will definitely host games again. I know Ireland is on the NFL's list. Then like you say places like Australia and Japan it offers them so many opportunities and they know pretty much every game will sell out.

People need to remember it's all about increasing the value of the league and teams. They don't care if its more games or how far they'll make teams travel. It's all about the bottom line.
Florio is a clown unworthy of discussion

So, I'll leave it at that

For those with any actual concern about the league approving the deal, don't be.

Khan has voted on deals like this for other markets since he's been an owner - so he and Lamping know exactly what the owners need to see/hear to approve.

They aren't going into those meetings with anything less than an easily agreed upon deal.

When you factor in the current growth trajectory of Jacksonville, the population booming and the developmental plans just in general. It's an easy decision to agree upon. We're slowly but surely shaking the small market label off our back's.

The loyalists, the diehard fans, the day one's, they made this all possible. It's a testament to the people we have here in this city as well as our fanbase everywhere around the world. Especially knowing the absolute garbage years of product that was thrown out there on the football field year after year.

This city had endured a lot of nonsense over the years. A lot of media jabs. This deal here just provided the coup de grace. [BLEEP] them. We've won. We've now had the last laugh in all of this. Meanwhile, you have Chicago getting up in arms about supporting the Bears for a new stadium, and you have the Chiefs talking about leaving Arrowhead.

Yeah, the national media can kiss my [BLEEP] now. [BLEEP] you very much!

This is exactly why the owner's will instantly approve the deal.  The time of cities funding stadiums is starting to come to a close; getting a deal with the city is an automatic 'yes'.

Kahn is an astute businessman. I believe ranked like #55 in the latest Forbes 400 richest in America.  One thing these kind of guys do is know outcomes of meetings before entering them. It would be so out of character for him to take a deal to the other owners only to have it not approved.
So the next major dates are:

July 23 Jax City Council meeting for discussion/vote of the community benefits agreement.
October 15-16 NFL Fall League Meeting (The Whitley, Atlanta, Georgia)

Is that correct?
Bad week for this stadium deal to get approved by NFL owners meeting.

It will put even larger spotlight on the Jags and be even more of a referendum on the Jags record with Khan as owner, and the whether the coach and QB are good enough and them getting public funds.

Hopefully that light will put enough shame on Khan to start cleaning house.

Well, it is done so now we live with it.

It will never happen but city should add a new clause that says the city will cover $50,000 for each win. If the Jags don't win enough before the bill is due, Khan pays it.
