If the O-line plays better everything will be fine. Add a good one in the draft or trade for Higgins and no one will miss Ridley.
If Baalke had signed Josh Allen to the deal he deserved last year, we could have franchise tagged Ridley. As it is, Baalke messed around, lost out on Ridley, and probably also made Josh Allen so annoyed he will shop around next year too. Baalke needs to redeem himself with a great draft that includes Xavier Leggett. Otherwise, he has GOT to go!
Good for Ridely. Too bad he has nobody to throw him the ball.

Or we could package something together and try to move up to get Odunze assuming Nabers and Harrison go very early. I'd rather have some of those guys than Ridley. They have superstar potential. Ridley was just okay for us this past year. Good moments mixed with disappointments. He now goes to a team where WRs go to fail.

Literally the worst WR possible.

1st BTJ
2nd Legette
3rd Javon Brown
Tee Higgins and Mike Williams

Realistically what would the draft compensation for Higgins be?

I just don't see it being worth it. I don't see him as being the AJ Brown/Tyreke level game breaker that would justify that on top of the cap hit.
The Ridley highlights being shown on Twitter has #16 throwing to him.
Now he'll have #8
Sounds like the Jags made a good decision on this one. Keep the 2nd rounder and the 90 million bucks, avoid the cap hit, and lose a receiver that wouldn't have topped a thousand yards if Kirk stayed healthy? Still got 3 good receivers on the roster and a draft that's loaded with good ones? Possibility of AD Mitchell or Brian Thomas Jr in the 1st, McConkey, Leggette, Wilson, Coleman in the 2nd, Rice, Pearsall, Walker, Washington in the 3rd?

I'll take that deal every time.
It was whatever either way. The offense was clunky all season and it could have been because of Ridley upsetting the flow and rhythm or it could have been the plays that were called.

Either way, moving on with what we have. Get that defense right and with some tweaks to that offensive line, it will allow Lawrence to sit in the pocket and throws darts.

Kirk is that dude and so is Engram. Hoping they find a way to keep Zay and come out of the draft with some future studs and a couple of immediate starters. DT and Edge is my number 1 priorities.

Need a huge year out of guys like Lawrence, Etienne, Campbell, and Cisco.

The offense was better without Ridley. It just was.

A 1st and a 3rd maybe? imo he can be close to AJ.

Whatever it is it will be too much. Just draft a guy and move on. We signed two guys already, have Kirk and Zay (if we want him) plus Engram. Add in Strange and Cooks and there's development talent there as well. Ridley was too expensive for what we got in his actual value, so let's go.
yeah my main memories of Ridley as a jag will be his killer drops.
We need to draft and develop some receivers anyway. You cant always keep buying wr in FA. While keeping Ridley would have been nice evidently we were not prepared to match those numbers. So be it. Should make getting Allen happy easier which i actually think is more important.

Kinda sux going to the tacks tho.

I agree, draft a guy and keep going. Our core group of receivers Kirk, Zay and Engram were really good in 2022 and seemed to work together smoothly. I felt the addition of Ridley did open possibilities but never got really coordinated. The combination felt clunky. With the addition of Gabe and maybe a new draftee that can change.

I do wish Calvin well and hope he enjoys the security of his new deal. We are however going to shut him down twice a year.
Take that money and sign an offensive linemen or two
Ridley is Dead to Me

- signed
Tike Barber !!!
I really hate our division rivals lol. ESPECIALLY THE STINKIN TACKS.
Definitely disappointed since it was basically a foregone conclusion that he'd return here after not signing agreeing to sign with the Patriots and apparently just waiting until 4:00 pm today. That being said, there's no way he was worth the deal he received and I'm glad the Jaguars didn't try to match that offer.

Zay Jones seems to have a better rapport with Trevor and, when healthy, can be just as productive as Ridley. The addition of Gabe Davis, when added to Kirk, Jones and Engram should make for a very solid receiving corps. I do expect them to add another receiver via free agency or the draft. I'm not in favor of adding one in the first round unless they have the opportunity to trade up a few spots for Odunze. Brian Thomas Jr. would be tough to "pass" on due to his very high ceiling, but the need for a penetrating defensive tackle, additional Edge rusher and cornerback exceeds that for a receiver at this time. They also need to add help on the interior offensive line as Scherff is likely to miss games and will likely need to be replaced by a younger guard in the next few years.
