I have a lot going for me.   No doubt about that.   And overall, I've been extremely lucky in life.   But looks?   Jeeeesus.   No.  

 

I was riding in a car with a friend the other day and I told him a story that included a store clerk recognizing me from a previous visit, and he said, "Well, your looks are... distinctive."   I laughed and he started tap dancing.  "Well, your looks are...   non-standard?"   I laughed and said, "Yeah, that's a good way to put it.   Non-standard.  Unique.  You can't have everything."

Emails that contain an endless series of CCs (and Reply All) and you end up in this email string for what seems like an eternity.  And many times, you don't need to see any of it.

People who have access to your calendar yet still book multiple meetings which conflict with your availability.

Bad/missed calls by refs, at crucial times in games like the end of it, that really hurt one teams chances of winning the game while really helping the other teams chance of winning the game.

Dropping off stuff at the recycle center only to end up at urgent care for a tetanus shot and antibiotics because something I stepped on went through my boot and into my foot. And my doctor is only in Monday-Thursday so I had to wait 3 hours at urgent care. Among other things. To say I've had a crappy day is an understatement. 

Friday and Saturday night shifts suck!!


Especially when the general public have all been paid!! Wish me luck!
