Two things:

 

People who say "110%, 150%..." when voicing support for someone or something. No, 100% is as far as it goes. I remember watching an ex-football player attempting to express how much a team had turned around. Well, since 180 degrees is good, his logic told him 360 was even better... 

 

The other is guys I see on the golf course who wear their ponytails in a ball behind their hats. They look like poodles. This annoys me and I don't understand why. It just does. 110%

On the surface I get what you say however 100% is when you have given all you got and are ready to quit and do. 110% (or better) is when you have reached that point both physically and mentally and you are ready to quit but refuse to give in.

I'm British, I always err on the side of caution. Hence only giving 101%
When you thought you had a short 9hr work day before the holiday and then discover you have a normal 13 hours work day
2.5 hours into the New Year's Eve night shift.
