Quote:It's not at all hard to see him slipping after that vert.
He was double clutching several thrown balls to him also. I was on the Fournette band wagon. However, I am not now, as he seems like a limited 2 down wrecking ball with his performance.
What if trade back and were able to get Fournette and Lamp? We'd miss out on the 2nd round, but dang.....
Cook vertical 30.5
McCaffrey vertical 37.5
1. McCaffrey
2. Fournette
3. Cook
Anyone have 10yd splits on the RBS? That would show a lot more on the explosiveness than the vertical IMO
McCaffrey is the 3rd best player in the draft imo.
My bigboard
1. Adams
2. Garrett
3. McCaffrey
Quote:that's a different argument than saying "our offensive line is bad, we shouldn't draft a RB that high"...
you just have to see whether you think some RB at 4 is worth it more than a defensive player at 4.
you don't want to be drafting sammy watkins if you can have Khalil Mack and Allen Robinson in the 2nd for example.
I think having a special RB is important. not a decent one, not a good one - but a special one.
We have Ivory and Yeldon.. how many of these RBs do you really think will be significant upgrades over those 2? In this entire draft I see about 3 maybe 4 running backs that are better. Cook, Fournette, Mixon, and an honorable mention is McCaffrey who is more of an overall offensive weapon.
I think if you're going to IMPROVE the RB position, it has to be Cook, Fournette, or Mixon.
I don't think any of the other guys will do it.
It's tough to say because watching some oft these guys they really do look impressive. D'Onta Foreman, for example, just looks dominant out there. McCaffery looks like a beast as well. Even if we don't find someone better than Ivory, we can still improve the RB position by adding a complimentary back to their stable.
Fournette not far behind though probably have him at 4
Quote:I think Kamara would be an improvement as well. But that's just me.
When I saw his highlights I didn't fall over or anything. They were impressive as all RB highlights are, but nothing really stood out to me about him. That said, I must have watched different tape than Mayock because the guy was just drooling over Kamara calling him first round material.
Mayock is even ranking Kamara #1 over the otherwise concensus top three. He's got them...
- Kamara
- Fournette
- Cook
- McCaffrey
Im still trying to picture if another team drafts McCaffrey and we still have Poz starting at MLB and Wash has Poz playing man or contain on McCaffrey lol :teehee:
Would be fun to watch.

Now imagine it with Folwer too. That's why you don't move him to OLB.

Lol, its funny how you turn that into a bash Fowler thread. He will be a miss match for almost any LB. Hopefully thats one of the reasons we brought in Jack though and he takes over at MLB this year if he feels hes ready.
Quote:I would love that, but with how thin the crop of O-lineman are this year, I highly doubt he'll be there. Him and Cam both probably go in the teens, maybe early 20s.
I'm sure right about Lamp. We'd have to make a move to get him.
It's not just the 34 reps, but everything. His arms measured 32 1/4".... he ran a 5.00 flat 40-yard dash at 6' 3 3/4", 309 lbs... He did a 5.12 3-cone... and his vert was nearly as high as Fournette's.

Hmm, why is it ok to turn it into a bash Poz thread, but crossing the line by mentioning it would also be bad or probably even worse with Dante?
I wish we could get Forrest Lamp somehow, it won't be at 4 but man it'd be a great addition.
Does McCaffrey still make it to our round two pick?
I'm hoping Kamara's athletic results boost him into round one allowing McCaffrey to just slip far enough.

What do you mean still? He would of never made it to our pick in the first place. He has no injury like Jack did last year.

It's always been Fournette and Cook in round one, and then McCaffrey might go late 1st but probably early 2nd. I'm often seeing Jaguars fans listing him as their 2nd round pick.
I'm hoping that if Kamara goes late round one that McCaffrey falling still may be a possibility.
