Quote:Kizer looks like most potential out of this group. Evans has been pretty bad.
I keep reading that he 49ers are now looking hard at Kizer for their #2 pick.
Quote:I don't get all of the QB attention. The FO giving up on Brandon Allen already seems silly and unlikely, and a QB depth chart of Bortles + 2 mid/late round picks with zero NFL snaps seems even sillier and more unlikely. I'd be very surprised if we draft a QB.
What are you talking about? The QBs are getting attention in this thread right now because they are currently doing their drills. I don't think one person in this thread has suggested we draft one of them.

Definitely don't draft a QB this year.
Next years class is loaded so if Bortles does play poorly this year, we get a stud next year instead of reaching this year.
Quote:John Ross with the 4.22!
Oh my!
I don't recall seeing a combine 4.22,or close to it, since Alvis Whitted and Tavian Banks.

Your recollection is off. Nobody has ever ran a 4.22. It's the nfl record.

You cant plan for stuff like this, we have no idea what our record will be. The Jets and Niners are in full tank mode, the Browns are still pretty bad regardless of my belief that theyre making good moves, and any number of teams could end up below us as well. Trying to have concrete plans for drafts a year in advance is almost impossible.
Yeah definitely not wanting to draft any of these guys.
Holy hell at Hodges and Njoku's jumps.

I would be shocked and bewildered if they gave up on Allen so soon. I'm all for getting a qb so we can finally kick Chenne to the curb when Brandon and the new qb both beat him out in TC. I strongly believe that in a fair competition, Allen straight up beats out Henne.

It might have been at their Pro Days, but I know Whitted ran a 4.22 and Banks ran a 4.23.

You just can't claim that there will be more competition for Blake, and that there isn't a mandate to start him, if your QB depth chart is Bortles, Allen, and someone like Peterman or Evans.

So much for Njoku falling to #35... but I'm starting to wonder about drafting Hodges at that spot.

But maybe you can if your depth chart is something like Bortles, Mahones, Allen.

Njoku's floor has always been the Giants for me. Hodges is hard to say, he's basically just a WR...a very big and explosive one.
Quote:What were the numbers.
Broad
Njoku 11'1"
Hodges 11'2"
Hodges 39
Njoku 37.5

Not a great class, even at the top.
I still don't mind taking a chance on a guy like Jerod Evans later. He's a bit off the radar and could be a value for a developmental QB.
Everyone is saying Tim Williams is interviewing well which was his biggest concern given his off the field issues. People were worried he had a similar mindset to randy gregory.
If the glowing praise continues he probably becomes my top guy.
I'm not seeing anything in Allen that's shown he's anywhere near ready to take over if things should go south. No better than anything developmental we could pick up. Allen, won't know the playbook any better with a new offense, so I don't see any advantage he has to win a backup/3rd qb position over even a developmental rookie.
TEs ! This is what I wanna see !
