When you're studying draft-eligible defenders against USC, (Darnold) jumps off the screen.
Darnold became a star in this year's Rose Bowl, where he led the Trojans to a thrilling 52-49 win over Penn State. He never gets too high or too low during a game and he almost looks bored inside the pocket. When evaluating quarterbacks, poise is the second-most important trait, right behind accuracy. Darnold is one of the most poised signal-callers I've seen in the last few years."

One of the top QBs in this year's draft class, Deshaun Watson, was viewed differently a year ago than he is now. The hype train had already left the station for Darnold after the Rose Bowl, and if he's as good as NFL evaluators believe he is, the buzz will only build throughout the 2017 season.

He could live up to it. Or be Hackenberg.
Quote:He could live up to it. Or be Hackenberg.
I dont see that at all. Hackenberg was never good in college just a lot of hype. This guy is already starting to showcase the skills to be an elite QB prospect.
Quote:this is a good message to send. Why even bother pretending to care about your players being garbage humans? just skip that step entirely and let us all know you dont give a [BAD WORD REMOVED] about anybody
I like the honesty. Sure he has some kind of limits , just saying that at the end of the day talent is far more important.
Darnold is an absolute stud,if he was in this draft he would be ahead of Garrett. If bores doesn't workout I hope we get the #1 pick so we get him. The best tape on a QB I have seen

Yeah, I think he will be the best prospect to come out since Luck
Quote:D. Watson comes in at 6'2. Good for him.

Nice size for a slot receiver.
Quote:Yeah, I think it was Brett Kollmann that had said that Fournette had the fastest timed speed last year out of college and NFL (although he may have gotten it somewhere else). Homerun speed at 240 with no fumbling issues, where do I sign up?
Fournette does have fumbling issues, to be fair.
Darnold has such a weird throwing motion.

QB#1
Dalvin Cook matches Derrick Henry's bench press numbers. 22 reps at 225lbs.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The player generating the most buzz with NFL evaluators in Indianapolis this week for the NFL Scouting Combine isn't in this year's draft.

No, that QB -- USC's Sam Darnold -- won't be eligible for the draft until 2018, at the earliest, but he's by far the most talked about player in Indy, an NFL executive told NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah.

He looks really good but I need to see some consistency over some more games than just one season before I annoint him.

The beauty of the bortles situation, is if he doesn't pan out and plays like 2016 bortles again, we likely will be picking close to the top of the draft so we might have a shot at him if he declares.

You're absolutely right there. Either Blake turns it around and we have our QB, or he sucks it up and we have the chance to grab a great QB next year. It's a win/future win situation.
What happens when we fire dave and need a new GM, who potentially wants his own coaching staff? What happens when the handful of good players weve drafted dont re sign cause were trash and still looking for a qb after 4 years of rebuilding? Or when another team is worse than us(hey san francisco and new york!) and were out of range of the best qb? Theres really no upside to being in this position at all.
I think Dalvin will run faster than Fournette but ultimately I would like to take Fournette over Cook.

LF has very good high end speed but Cook seems to have a little more oomph. But, LF has a very nice repertoire of moves along with the ability to run you over at his will - whereas Cook seems to be more of a one-step and go type of running back similar to Chris Johnson.

If Dave gets fired, which isn't very likely, I would assume they would let Tom take over some of the duties, and then delegate the rest to their chief scouts.

If Dave gets fired, I'm sure Khan and Tom will be keeping their coaching staff.

Wow.

You are going about being a Jaguars fan in the most miserable of ways, my man. Have a little hope.
Forget all that doom and gloom...

Don't the workouts start tomorrow morning?

Theres almost zero reason to have hope.

LOL

That's a very dark outlook. I'm glad I don't see it that way.
So excited to see these guys run tomorrow.
