Quote:It's not slow. You don't have to have 4.4 speed to be an elite SS. Landon Collins dominated college and had a pro bowl season last year and ran mid 4.5 also. If someone was high on Adams before this, their stance really shouldn't be changing all that much based on his combine. The 31 inches isn't great, but I haven't seen any issues with his tape that indicates an issue with speed or jumping or acceleration.
Quit using logic here, sir. That's not allowed.
These DB's are killing it, forget Bouye, Jefferson, Gilmore, etc
Quote:4.5 is great for a SS.
Kam Chancellor ran a 4.69 basically a 4.7, his vertical was 32.
Half an inch better than Adams, and people are gonna complain.
Adams will be way worth the 4th pick. If anyone gets him past 5 is getting a steal.
Exactly. All these people coming out saying he's not worth the 4th pick because of these numbers aren't being realistic.
Don't use Chancellor as an example, he's the extreme outlier of the position. 99%+ amount of players with his measurables don't amount to anything.
Quote:Here come the excuses. Collins wasn't considered a top 5 pick.
Russell Wilson wasn't considered a first round pick, what's your point?
Adams has better film than Collins did. If you're basing your evaluations for guys strictly off the combine, you're doing it wrong.
The thought of Adams and Ramsey together is scary.
Don't fall for it.
Bridgewater "had" to be drafted with our first, too.
What this is telling us is that the depth is there. No need to go safety at 4.
Plenty of talent. Pick a premium position or trade down.
Either way, there's quality to find a safety at a much better value later.

I wasn't a big fan of his before the combine. I wanted no part of him at 4.

That's fine, but evals for Adams shouldn't have really changed much after this. He was never a guy that was going to be blowing up the combine.

You've been really good at bashing anything non premium position, yet haven't given any solutions. If Thomas is off the board what premium position player do you take? The serious injury concern and also poor athlete Allen I presume?
Oh yeah, simple trade down with the other teams that are clamoring to give up premium draft value for the non premium spots that you dislike so much.

So we see these elite SS come once every few drafts and we shouldn't take him?
Kenny Vaccaro
Eric Berry
For example, both have a little bit better vertical, but are identical in almost every other drill.
I see no reason for us to not get another tone setter on defense like Ramsey.
We need that nastiness on our defense, We used to be feared for our D, now we look like a HS football team.
I'm seeing Lattimore with an unofficial 4.36 40.
My top five is sort of re-ordering itself...
- Jamal Adams
- Solomon Thomas
- Marcus Lattimore
- Malik Hooker <--did he not run the 40?
- Jonathan Allen
Top trade down targets include McCaffrey, Lamp and Watson
Btw, who is this Jalen Myrick with the 4.29?
lets collectively stop using the term trade down as if it can be done on demand and doesnt require a trade partner and a good offer.
I literally wouldn't mind taking Peppers at 4. Just seems like a star in the making. He and Jalen roaming around would be a lot of fun.

Good point considering Garrett is probably the only player teams will want to trade up into the top five for.

Wait a second. A trade down involves a trade partner and good offer? Never would have guessed that. Thanks for the info.

Myrick is a day 2-3 prospect with lots of potential, undersized, and will have to work his butt off to become a Nickle or Dime back possibly could work his way to a #2 corner but highly unlikely.
Seems like a solid Special Teams asset

I said a while back that I wouldn't take Adams at 4 because there is a Jamal Adams in every draft. You can find a guy like him nearly every year in the late first/second rounds. I prefer guys with talents that are not common (Malik Hooker). And yeah i know he's an FS, but I don't really care.

With the way people on here talk about it youd think there was just a big red trade down button GMs carry around to use at their whim.

Who cares man it's a message board. This place is all about fantasizing anyway. You never know what could happen.
