He's not a big name or hot young up and coming coach???   FAIL!!!!!!

Let's bash the hire just to be safe. If he proves to be more than biker gang dumpster juice, we can always change our tune later.
Freaking out is more fun...
I'm trying to find reasons to be optimistic of this move. I reason that except for one year (Holt/Bruce/S-Jax), he's never had top talent to work with. But, man...it's tough. Going through some of his interviews, the one thing he talks often about is creating his scheme around the players, not the other way around. This is good. Whether he can do that successfully is another thing.

Carr fits in WCO, which is most of Olson's experience. I'm not sure that Blake is as good a fit in this offense as Carr (who has a compact release with ELITE arm strength). On the downside, from his interviews, it sounds like he really, really, REALLY thought MJD had something left in the tank (when any Jag fan who's watched MJD over the years knew he was done two years ago, much less last season). This while they let a promising young back sit on the bench until late in the year. Then you have James Jones. I get it, he's no longer with the Packers and he doesn't have an MVP QB throwing the ball to him. But his drop in YPA is...noteworthy. This was a guy who was noted for being a deep threat (with questionable hands) who suddenly found his YPA drop from the 14s, 13s most years to...barely 9 YPA. Same with Denarius Moore.

You know one of the complaints we had as Jaguar fan (to the point of Tony Khan tweeting it) was how unexplosive our offense is and how bad our YPA is at 6.2.

Guess who's ranked lower than us and last in the league? The Raidahs....at an absolutely pathetic and Gabbert-esque 5.2 YPA.

How much of that YPA is just Carr being Carr? Wasn't he a dink and dunker all through college? Seriously asking, I never watched him and thought I heard that somewhere
Also, as FBT said, there is still no confirmation from anyone. This board would explode if this is all speculation and we get Gase after all lol

its already on the internet. I read it
The only thing we know is Greg Olson has been hired. At what position he was hired has not been confirmed. As of late last night Gus said the OC has not been hired or offered they were still in the process. Just like Gase going to Baltimore im sure he said let me go to Chicago and see what they want and ill give you my desicion today. That is just speculation though.

After looking at Adam Schefters twitter who i think would have any information if it was confirmed, there is no mention of Olson at all to the JAgs

Right on!

Crap! It's gotta be true then!

Paul from Arlington, VA:
So, is Greg Olson the offensive coordinator or not?
John: I got many variations of this question Tuesday afternoon as Twitter blew up following reports that Greg Olson had been named the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator. I got the question a lot more Tuesday night when there were more reports. The early reports were not correct. The later reports still weren’t quite official, but I expect Olson – the Jaguars’ quarterbacks’ coach in 2012 and the Oakland Raiders’ offensive coordinator the past two seasons – to be the offensive coordinator of the Jaguars very, very soon.

That is the closest to confirmation i have seen
Typically, where there is smoke, there is fire. Let's hope this isn't true.

I personally vow that I will drink NO alcohol until the OC position is official !!
I'm guessing there won't be any headlines stating "Jags snag Olson as OC"?

Wait, I thought Olson was the Raiders QB coach. If he was the OC, then this is a lateral move? I was under the impression he was only working with the Raider's QBs. Oakland was a very bad offensive team as a whole with their only bright spot in their QB. If he was responsible for the whole offense...oh god.

First of all. Gase isnt coming. I think we know that for sure. Secondly. It doesnt matter cause this fansbase will just find something else to complain about.

Isn't there a lot?

DelRio didn't even want him lololol
