Cool.  He was my second choice behind Mike Smith.  Not displeased.  Just hope he gets a new staff.

This organization is full of bone headed moves, but at least getting Coughlin is a lone shining star.

I rather have Mike Smith than Doug. How are the players supposed to respond when there is no change of culture?

  I would be very surprised if Shad Khan blows everything up after one season.   I think Dave Caldwell and Doug Marrone will have an opportunity with the Jaguars in the 2018 season barring a 2 or less win season in 2017.

It happens in companies all the time. HR is outsourced and they have an opening for CYZ Inc. they get some good qualified outside applicants, but internal person posts for the opening and after a search, they realize the internal was the best all along. Just a thought

In the final two weeks there was a complete 180 done on how the team watches tape, practices, uses down time in the locker room etc. I think a culture shock is coming.

Wash will keep the same exact defensive system, I bet my left testicle we'll be rolling with LEO and Otto in September.

Defense went from below average to average. Wash was a better DC than Babich but the scheme is still bad and Marrone/Coughlin probably agree with that.

6th isn't average and they got better as the season progressed.

 

Wash is a professional with a lot of experience. I'm sure if Marrone/Coughlin wanted him to adjust the defense it wouldn't blow his mind.

It would be hysterical if they hired Jeff Fisher as the DC.
