What is the league average, genius?
Quote:So an average of 1.2 times per game over 2 years. Considering most teams would punt if they're say between the 50 and opponents 45, I wonder what the average for other teams is?

The stat alone doesn't seem too outrageous without a little more context. Technically the 49 yard line is opponent territory. You're not making a fg from there.

Here's some context - http://buffalonews.com/2016/11/26/marron...ide-field/

And only one of those was from inside the opponent's 35-yard line.  Looks like a prudent field position decision to me.

Talk about salty. Marrone week?

90% of my friends/family are in Western NY. Dude they're ALL super salty about the whole thing.

That being said, I only count 1, maybe 2 of those punts that seem odd. We also don't know weather conditions or any of that either.

They were also up 27-7 in the second half when they punted from inside the opponent's 35 yard line.
Marrone has 2 more career wins than Gus with 30 less games played.

I obviously want Marrone to do well since he's our coach, but part of me wants him to do well so I can see all the Buffalo fans losing their minds.

He punted on the 32?!

Something seems really odd there. No coach would do that unless something happened. Like his kicker got hurt or something.

It was late in the 3rd and they did win 27-7 in that game.  Not sure the wind or weather conditions though

Up 27-7 in the second half in November (Against New York, so they were playing outside). They promptly had a pick six after the punt too.
Some of the criticism from Bills fans is that Marrone and Hackett were too vanilla and conservative with there play calling in Buffalo.

I mean in 2013 their Qbs were a rookie Ej Manuel, Thad Lewis and Jeff Tuel, with nobody at receiver either , the next year it was Ej Manuel and Kyle Orton albeit with a rookie Sammy Watkins playing. Anytime you're playing with QBs like that you're  gonna have to keep it vanilla.

From the ESPN writeup, winds were up to 30 MPH.  That likely played a big part, plus the 20 point lead.

It's funny that the article used that one to criticize him, but didn't take 30 seconds to check on weather conditions or injury.
