Not only that but he copies and pastes the same thing into like 3-4 other threads.

Because they're so many of the same threads it belongs there.

Im pretty sure that qualifies under "spamming" and is against the board CoC.
Promoting Marrone just makes sense. He knows the players, knows their strengths, knows their weaknesses. Knows what flavor of ice cream they like and what toppings help soothe a stinging loss.

And, Doug knows when it's time to throw in towel. Unlike Bradley, Doug will not wait until the ice cream is freezer burnt before he looks for a different gig.
Quote:But they haven't announced anything yet. It's speculation.

So far the only two things that are definitely happening are Marrone HC and Coughlin VP.

Maybe Hackett comes back but he then gets to run the offense he wants. Not Olsens.

Maybe Wash comes back but he then runs the D that Marrone wants.

We also don't know S.O.S, FA, Draft or Injuries.  Or who may come back from an injury and contribute (i.e. Sample/ Woodard)

The bills management is a mess. They were trying to force Marrone to play guys he didn't want to play. He had a clause in his contract that allowed him to cut ties amicably. With ownership infringing on his ability to coach, he took advantage of that clause in his contract.

All that aside, Marrone has been with the Jaguars a good amount of time now, and firing Gus a few weeks earlier would have made no difference to seeing what Marrone's commitment to the team would be.

Who is to say if they just canned Gus mid season that Marrone wouldn't think the same of this organization? You don't see how easily this organization could be perceived as mess if things weren't handled prudently?

A lot of you are evaluating this using something called hindsight bias. You are using knowledge and understanding that can only be obtained after the fact to criticize a decision not being made before that knowledge and understanding was ever obtained.

I honestly just feel bad for you.

All we have is the hindsight bias. We are not privvy to what goes on behind the scenes.

Marrone knows Gus got almost 4 full seasons even though he was the second worst head coach of all time. I don't think Marrone is worried about ownership being the same as the Bills...
Media guys who would typically balk at The Jags are saying Marrone had us looking like a real NFL team those last 2 weeks. They made some good points on espn jaguars page.

Can we just ban him already.
Quote:Marrone DID improve the team in just a short while and with nothing to play for. So I'm excited to see what he'll bring.

What I'm worried about tho is this culture.

Hopefully Marrone addresses that it's going to be a completely different culture. I don't want any Gus nuances lingering in our locker room
All I'm Hearing is Marrone's no nonsense. Kicked a player out a meeting fa' being late and locked the doe an' all lat! Already, just in that lil 2 weeks. He's a stern disciplinarian, apparently. Then he got Tom backin'm? It's gone be some ol' scold and console type stuff goin on in this new culture.

Between Tom Coughlin and Doug Marrone,   the likely approach is going to be that if you aren't 5 minutes early to a meeting,  you are late.

Right. And I'd bet they'll waste no time instilling their culture.

I don't really get all the disappointment.  Doug Marrone don't have that lost look in his eye like Gus did.  Doug Marrone is Tough, Sharp. Doug Marrone is Certain. And, well.. Tom. Having that "Big Tuna" type role, with all his Gandolphism.

Agreed.   If the culture and procedure changes Doug Marrone made when he became Interim HC didn't sink in during the two weeks he was in that position,  they will likely sink in soon after the Jaguars report for ' voluntary workouts'  in April.

Bc Marrone actually is a good coach, people just don't like him because apparently as Assistant HC he was supposed to undermine Gus and run the team his way and he didn't do that.
Beachum seems to like the hire...and uses everybody's favorite buzz word.

Quote:How was the front office supposed to learn they would be comfortable with Marrone without the opportunity to work with him over the course of a season?

It silly to fault the front office because they didn't have precognition of there relationship with Marrone.

He was apart of the coaching staff during the entire 2015 NFL season. And it's not silly at all to question a front office that's driven this team into a 14 - 48 septic tank of a franchise over the past four years. The whole process was and has been foolish up until the last few months.

If they were comfortable enough with Marrone to make him the head coach yesterday they must have been comfortable with him enough long before the firing of Bradley in December.

It's quite clear this front office doesn't know what it's doing. There's a reason Khan hired Coughlin to be the VP of football operations and why Caldwell just basically took a demotion.

For what, stating facts. This fanbase cant handle the truth with this team.
