Yeah...  But why not bring him in at the head coach spot?  I don't know man.  I'm hoping Marrone is legit.  But it seems like the front office is looking to not wipe the slate clean after Gus, but to just modify the process.  I'm not sure it's gonna work out...

 

Plus, it feels like it's a vote of confidence for BB6 staying as the starter for 1 more year without competition...  Which scares the heck out of me.

Wash is a professional with a lot of experience. I'm sure if Marrone/Coughlin wanted him to adjust the defense it wouldn't blow his mind.

 

Whichever stats allow a defense in the bottom 5 in forced turnovers to be a "top 6 defense" aren't stats I take too serious.

I think there will be a change of culture.  I read somewhere that a player was 5 minutes late for a team meeting last week, and Marrone kicked him out of the meeting and locked the door.   I'm not sure Gus would have done that.

Wash did a good job. But we have to alter our scheme some. We need to fit Jack better and get rid of this Leo Otto junk. Idk if wash has anything better to provide. Maybe, but I'm OK with getting someone else that's proven.

That and Mike Di Rocco reported that a player said some players were used to arriving late to meetings and not following recovery directions on Friday because they felt there would be no consequences when Gus was there. 

 

I wanted a HC from outside the organization but I'm sure that with Marrone discipline will be followed. And now that Coughlin is on board, even more of that.

Right because yards per game is meaningless stat to a moron.

I'm happy with both hires. I think the Jaguars will be (shall I say it?...Yes!) RELEVANT next season.

If Marrone was the guy, why did it take 14 games to make the switch? If he was named interim coach after 8 games, the front office would have had more information on Marrone from which to make a decision.


Which begs the question.......would no outsider take the job with Bortles here?
