I still dont think it is Marrone.  I rather have Mike Smith he did a damn good job with the Falcons.

Honestly, I'm okay with this hire. I wanted someone with successful head coaching experience - the NE Offensive Coordinator doesn't have that, and neither does Shannahan (sp).  The narrows it down to Marrone and Smith.  Smith is a defensive coach, and our defense is pretty good. It's the offense that needs help.

Personally, (since Coughlin's firing) I think we're simply committed to having the lowest paid HC in the NFL

I can't wait to see TMD's reaction on Twitter.

What a joke.
Quote:Is that why the Bills organization fired him and the Jaguars lost against the sorry [BAD WORD REMOVED] Colts?
The Bills didn't fire him. He quit.
Quote:Marrone DID improve the team in just a short while and with nothing to play for. So I'm excited to see what he'll bring.

What I'm worried about tho is this culture.

Hopefully Marrone addresses that it's going to be a completely different culture. I don't want any Gus nuances lingering in our locker room
He didnt improve anything. The team played well in one game. A game that had a lot to ride on. Players played well for they coach they liked who was just fired, also, many players said after the game they wanted to make the fans happy after a bad season and wanted to send them off with a nice holiday present. And, we were playing spoiler in our last home game against our rival who was playing for a playoff spot.

Doug Marrone really hasn't done a thing to change this team. 2 games isnt enough to say that.
Ahhhhh it won't be so bad
He took buffalo to 9-7 with Jeff fuel, ej manual and kyle Orton.. Y'all are pretty ignorant if you are judging him based on his online duties here.
Quote:No decent coaches wanted to be hamstrung with Bortles, and Caldwell wasn't having it any other way.
This is very very plausible. If so, Caldwell needs to go bye-bye........
Not confirmed.

It will be a little surprising to me if he gets more than a two year deal. You'd have to think Khan would want to retain the ability, financially, to blow it all up if we win 6 or fewer games next year. A two year deal would allow him to do that. Three or more and you'd have to think Caldwell is probably safe for that same amount of time and would get extended accordingly.
My last post got auto corrected to look like I can't spell for [BLEEP] lol

Use google before you make yourself look any dumber than you already look.

2013 - 6-10 LOSING RECORD

2014 - 9-7 WINNING RECORD

Oh he quit. My bad.

Hired as O line coach for Jaguars which arguably has one of the worst Olines in the NFL.

Won 1 game as interim coach.

Some record!
Quote:Then SHAME ON THE JAGUARS for not giving him more time. Gus should have been fired a few times during the season, but legitimately after the TNF shellacking.
No matter which angle you look at it from, the first GM in history to be making a 5th top 5 pick who also hired the worst HC in history looks like he royally screwed up. Who coulda seen that coming?
Quote:Your making the assumption those other candidates valued this job the most.

You're making the assumption no other candidates wanted this job over their possible existing offers.
Here it goes....Jaguar fans starting the "I'm OKAY WITH IT"

Boy yall still sleep..... :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:

Saint Doug! He saved the Rutgers now he will save us
I have joked about it in the past, but I really get the feeling Shad Khan is trying to Rachel Phelps this team so he can move the team to Miami.

According to Rapoport, he has not been offered the job yet.
