Yay!!! Congrats JA!!! Great to have you in Duval for the long haul!

Feels good to see a drafted Jag continue and hopefully finish his career here! Can’t wait to see you wreak havoc in the coming years!

Really glad for him, he's earned it and now we can focus on other stuff in the run up to the draft

Yes and that other stuff is called getting Trevor's contract organized.
Better late than never! He deserves it based on performance. It will be interesting to see what they intend to do with the salary cap savings. Do they use it to potentially trade for Higgins or Aiyuk? Only Baalke and Pederson know the answer to that, but we'll find out in 15 days or less!
Just a question..

Since they placed the tag on Allen and then signed him to a long term contract, can they reuse that tag on another player instead now?

My guess would be 'no' within 15 days.  I feel like the major trades/offers have been explored and decided on by this time (pre-draft.)  I think FA heats up again after teams have made their draft picks and can reshape their roster after having draft picks in the building.

Nope, it's used up for the year once they've applied it.

I would love a trade up into the top 10 for Odunze or Nabers.

If not, trade Zay and a 2nd rounder for Aiyuk. Draft corner in round 1.
30 mil a year for him? I would not have made this move. This guy is not Chris Jones or Bosa. Sorry, but I think this one is going to blow up. He played well at times in his first deal.

He did get a little banged up in the past, but alot of his lower numbers are due to our defensive line not helping him. You seen what he did his rookie year with a better defensive line, then last year Walker started to come on which helped Allen explode. If Armstead stays healthy and Walker continues to improve, I think last year will be the norm for him.

Allen has been great. He's played as the sole rusher on our line, so he was never going to put up Bosa numbers. As soon as he got someone competent on the other end he flourished.
I’m glad the deal is done so he is ready for camp.

That’s how much is costs for an elite pass rusher which Josh Allen has been.

Chris Jones and Bosa's deals are now old news.   Josh was next man up and a lot of times that means highest paid at the position even though he wasn't in this instance.  Whether you agree he's worth it or not is irrelevant to what the market would pay him for his services.  Josh might have gotten Bosa money on the open market.  We'll never know.  Burns wasn't really a true glimpse at the market because his deal came from a trade so he very likely wasn't negotiating a contract with anyone else aside from the Giants.

Not reaching a deal with Josh also sends a message to the rest of your roster about whether they are going to be rewarded here for good play.  He may very well not be worth what he's getting paid, but he did what he wanted and needed to do in his contract year.  They were going to find common ground around that $30M per year mark with the pressure to pay your guys on the team and the pressure to sign a fair offer or the player shouldering all of the injury risk.
Got it done before camp, cleared some cap space and didn’t break the bank. Good thing the darft is in a few weeks otherwise we’d have nothing to wring our hands about.

The Jags paid their own player market value for his production.

Which was exactly what they should have done.
Finally got it done. Much deserved. Good stuff

No one on the Jags are currently on an expiring deal.

But yes only one per year but realize they are used on expiring players only.  It'll be used for Trevor next year unless a contract is done before then, hopefully.

Your second paragraph is the best.  Letting our players know we are here to pay you for your elite production.  Don't be afraid to be here.
