Quote:Yeah, probably. Odd they didn't do it prior to the DC search.
That's a good point.  I'm not really sure either.
Quote:Tried telling you guys....Shad Khan is a pansy. He can't man up. Gus Bradley has the worst coaching record in LEAGUE history. I am a Bortles fan, not a fan of this inept franchise. Starting to hope Blake leaves these idiots for a real franchise.
True colors  showing. Pansy? What are you 12 years old?
Quote:You would think the Jags were a model organization that wins Super Bowls with the way some of these apes defend every move.

You forgot to make a hilarious ice cream joke. Hilarious I say.
Quote:12 wins. It's not that we don't win the Super Bowl, it's that we can't field a competent team.

I can't argue about the wins but I just know this team was bad before they even walked in the door. 7 wins the town year prior to there arrival so it's not like we were dominating then either. My main point is that I see true improvement although the wins are not coming with very young players. I knew this was gonna take a while when they first came only because there is only so much you can do every offseason and we literally had not one difference maker. Hell even the Browns have one or two guys that can make game changing plays lol.

Realistically this was gonna take a while it that was fine with me. I see the talent level improve and player developing. We just were so bad that there was only that improvement to carry the team. That 2012 roster was the worst thing I have to ever seen. We needed this to happen and we are just going through the lean years. Ever franchise has it. Steelers, Bengels, 9ers, Cowboys, hell we are seeing a perennial AFC power in the Chargers struggle with a dominant qb. This is just how it happens. Right now going through this rebuilding phase, stability is the most important thing. If time is allotted and to where if a mistake is made and can't be amended then we will end up like the Browns. The Raiders look like they figured it out now. Stick to it for a few years instead trying to catch lightening in a bottle. It make not suffice the fans bipolar needs for change and newness but it's a method that works especially when you know you have some pieces.

"Good. There isn't anyone better avaliable and Bradley's team is clearly getting better every year. Stability won't hurt them."

Perspective is key.
Quote:How dumb do you think FAs are? Like they don't know he will be gone if he fails this season? They're coming for the money anyway so when the Jags say "but look! We gave him anothe year!" It doesn't mean jack.

It's a dumb move that means nothing.

So then why be upset about it?

This happens all the time. Coaches rarely go into a season with only one year left on their contract. It's all for show.
And now Washburn will be calling the defensive plays. Thought Gus would of, guess he's not a puppet hire.
Quote:Overreaction? We are on year 4 of the 5 year plan that they said was three years to compete. When I objectively rewatched some of the games from this year it is amazing we won 5 games. Oh but we were so close in many of the games. No we really weren't close. The New England game was more of the blue print for the 2015 expectations.

The game plans are poor and the execution is awful. There are no adjustments made on game day and it all points back to Gus. Hey let me get mellow and go with the flow.

You are a much better fan than I am. I DV-R'd every game, and then subsequently deleted them a couple days later. I can't rewatch most of those games.
David and Gus are tied at the hip either this rebuild takes off next year or both are gone

Almost anybody available is most likely better. Gus is amongst the worst coaches of all time in terms of wins and losses.

Why dont you go root for another team then, you wont be missed

Khan saved football in Jacksonville, I much rather a owner that lets the process play out then one that fires coaches every 1 or 2 years like Clev and TB, Gus is Khan's 2nd coach and the team did improve last year, we have a franchise QB and lot of good young offensive players and some on defense. If Dave fix the defense this team will def be on the rise.

Quote:And whats the big picture? We have been waiting for many years to see a good product on the field. All i ever hear is we are on the rise, so when will we rise?

I'll admit previous regimes have failed but I'm a fan of the team so when new people come in I reset my expectations and thinking. I don't know when the rise is but it looks like the potential is there for one. Something we haven't seen for a long time.

I say sit back and enjoy the ride. It's a game not our lives. I enjoy seeing a team rebuild. For the first time in year I have buddies who call from other states complimenting some of our players. Just let it play out. Like someone else stated the wait and see approach has never failed me.
Everyone knew he was coming back when he didn't get canned when our season ended..

We've been on the rise since 2007.
While I'm not a big fan of Gus, you also have to give the guy a pass for the first two years.  The first year, our team was completely devoid of any talent thanks to Gene.  The second year we had a few better players, but our entire offense was run by rookies.

Quote:What in the world makes you think that?
Franchise QB great offensive weapons, ton of cap space to fix the defense and a weak AFC south

the freaking team that made the playoffs from the AFC south doesnt have a QB and got blown out in the playoff game

You guys are so fixated on Gus and is not looking at how much better this team is, the wins might not been a big jump, but I still put two losses on a freaking kicker. We were in every game besides 2 this year, we are close, take off the Gus hating blinders and look at the big picture.

A new coach doesnt guarantee anything

Anyone who has half a clue did. I'm wondering that if the only thing some here know is what they read on this message board. It's as if they pay zero attention to what the main players of this team have been saying and doing.

So what you're saying is blame it on Dave, not Gus.  Dave is the one who let go any player with any significant talent that first year.  Right when Dave came on board, any player we had that had any age to them was let go.  He stripped this roster and made it as bad as possible.

5 year plan is laughable to me.  A 5 year plan to a GM is a 5 year plan of job security.  I feel like Dave is playing this perfectly.

Have you seen our defense?  Have you seen our schedule next year?  I can't imagine that defense being completely overhauled over the course of one year.  If we get to 8-8 I will be shocked and happy.
Translation: we don't want to give the impression that he's a lame duck and scare players away in free agency, but we do want to be able to fire him without eating millions and millions of dollars.
