Quote:We get that you don't like Bortles. But you'd think that you would at least root for him to succeed. And say something along the lines of "Looks like he's trying hard to improve, hopefully it shows up on the field.", instead of the usual [BAD WORD REMOVED], snarky comment that comes from you.

Unfortunately, he is one of many on here that feel this way about blake so it just a losing battle trying to argue with them.

I'd like our group to be called the realists.

It's fine that you don't think he's any good right now. But as a fan of the team, how can you sit there and belittle one of our players for simply putting in the work in the offseason to try and improve? Why would you not be happy to see that he's committed to trying to get better and hope that it works?
Let's not take ourselves too seriously..I want Blake to do well.

We take ourselves seriously because in my case i'm tired of the same people spewing negativity towards this man as if they are rooting for him to fail to be so called right. Some people on here isn't happy unless they are unhappy and if that's the case i don't know they're love one's deal with them on a daily basis.

I actually didn't mention Blake at all in the original post you quoted, so I'm not sure how I could have belittled him.

Quote:Yeah that would be ideal. This way his mechanics stay in place. I don't think there is a rule where you can't hire someone to help you with mechanics.

Would be great. A quarterly visit to fine tune everything.

I know, I know "but a 3rd overall QB shouldn't need mechanics help!"

Well Blake does, get over it. And if intra-season visits will help him while he develops better muscle memory then I'm all for it.

I think people don't realize Tom Brady and Cam Newton work on their mechanics every year as well

You made light of it and pretty much dismissed the work he is putting in by comparing it to Tebow. It's not hard to read between the lines.
Bradley was the biggest problem for Bortles.

No one bashed Tebow's effort or work ethic. No one is bashing Blake's effort or work ethic either.
He needs to hit something like 10000 reps for muscle memory so he needs to throw a lot everyday.

Just be honest. What your comment was really saying is "Well I remember when Tebow spent the offseason working on his mechanics, and he still sucked and didn't make in the league."

He said he's there for 10 weeks, so 70 days he'd have to throw 142.8 times a day. Doesn't seem too hard actually

Well not in this thread... (Not saying you)

Lighten up leopold. Its nothing personal, just a fanbase that's lost for over a decade trying to cope. Some stay optimistic, some pessimistic and some laugh through it. Its all good either way.
That's a good enough throwing motion to win in the league, he just has to keep it that good, he can't have any more of the dropping it to his hip stuff if he wants to be successful.

I think he'll be fine. Maybe it's homerism, maybe it's just blind optimism. But something tells me he's going to turn it around.

This. The second the Gus Bus sputtered out of Jacksonville, BB improved. His performance in the final two games was clear evidence.

Yeah I guess some people might have (the idiots that bash him for going to the bars), but out of all of my many criticisms of Blake his worth ethic has never been one.
