So many opinions to digest, many valid points for and against BB5. For me, he's been playing behind an awful line, for a terrible coach with no running game, this season we've potentially addressed two of those issues, if we can address the ground game or give Blake some protection then he must flourish, if he doesn't then I can't see that he ever will.
.@Jaguars QB @BBortles5 has been working out on the west coast for the last two months with Tom House, Adam Dedeaux & John Beck.

So he hasn't been hitting the beach bars in Jacksonville as people have been suggesting..

Maybe he mastered the Instant Transmission power from Dragonball Z?

He had beers with Matt Ryan in Laguana Beach. He likes to have a couple brews here and there. As long as he isn't a alcoholic it shouldn't be a problem.

Well we should win every game then. Snap the ball, IT to end zone, score points.

I'm just gonna nod, and smile, and walk away...

Absolutely, we're all allowed a beer now and then.
So I guess the worry over him NOT training with House and his crew was unfounded.

So I'm probably in the minority here but I think Blakes in for a big bounce back year. I think Blakes accounts for 35 TDs, and throws 10 picks. Honestly I think this year will feel like a fresh start for him. I also think a small reason we brought in Bouye and possibly Murray is to bring in guys that Blake has a relationship with. It's obvious that the Franchise is going all in on Blake, and I for one hope it pays off.

BTW that throw was perfect. If he can capture and consistently throw with those mechanics, and with our improved defense, this could be a special year.
Quote:Unwilling to buy in to "but next year"? The guy had a breakout season 18 months ago. Did he have a bad season last year...yes. Did he play for the worst head coach of all time, re-tread OC and pathetic offensive line...yes. He deserves a year with a real coach and if he doesn't win you move on but he deserves a chance given the dumpster fire the organization threw him in for 3 years.

He deserves a chance, based on what? 2 years ago? Ha!

I'm with you on all parts. Go Jags.
Quote:Or the Jags get a run game so my man doesn't have to throw 40 times a game or more.

Better D (in ppg terms) and better run game most likely means a better Blake.
That still doesn't solve his inaccuracy problems.. especially on 3rd down which is a passing down.

Throwing every time is going to mean that there's a higher chance of inaccuracy in any QB, not just Blake. The more you throw the more chance you have of it getting intercepted or, indeed, gaining big yardage/scoring. Having a more reliable run game would mean (in theory) that he's fresh when he does throw the ball which will hopefully mean better accuracy.
There's only 1/4 billion dollars at stake...
Personally I'm happy to see Bortles training.. I would have like to see pressure in his face, but seeing little improvement is better then no improvement.. People stop making these excuses for Bortles,he was the one throwing the ball. Not Gus, or Olsen! Not the running game or O-line.. He was the one missing throws, and throwing picks!

Let's just hope he can maintain, his throwing motion this time around..

Keyword "hopefully"! That's really all we can do is hope! At what point do we get tired of hoping, and we begin to know, that our qb can make the play? I don't believe we will ever have that feeling with Bortles.. "Hopefully" I'm wrong!

I'll let you know in about November.

Just curious, what are you basing your optimism off of?
Lol, it will take a lot more than this to convince me that Blake has gotten "better". I really loved him at UCF, and was definitely on board when we drafted him. 3 years in...I'm not so sure now. Honestly, I think there has been some excuse making. Not having an adequate backup didn't help him either. And although I didn't concur with it at first, I now believe his 2015 numbers were actually garbage time stats.

I'd love for Blake to get it right this season. I want him to work out so that we're not wasting an early 2018 pick on another QB. I'm not very optimistic about it though. I think we've seen enough to warrant getting a reliable QB to have on reserve.
