True dat

Quote:Does the word "motive" mean anything to you guys?  For what purpose would somebody let air out of the balls without Tom Brady wanting it that way?  The idea that somebody tampered with the balls (on multiple occasions) without somebody within the Patriots knowledge is not going to fly.

I agree with you. Now try and prove it.

You can't. The pats might get a fine, but you can't punish a specific person without proof. Unless there's video evidence of Brady deflating the balls himself, he's gonna get away scott-free on this one. We both know it. It's the patriot way.

I think in the end if there is no hard proof of a certain individual/individuals then Belichick gets the fine and/or suspension. Precednt there was set with Sean Payton. "Ignorance is no excuse" Goodell says. He painted himself in a corner right there and it's haunted him since then.

The proof is in the balls.  I agree Brady himself wont be fined, but the organization will take the hit (fine or draft picks or both) since it's ultimately their responsibility.

In the grand scheme it doesn't matter if they don't get a single person.  It all depends on the punishment of the teams and if its draft picks.  Beyond that, cash doesn't matter.

In the grand scheme none of it matters, the Pats are in the Super Bowl and nothing is going to change that.

I guess that's why it's been the topic of discussion for the past week... cause it doesn't matter.

The NFL just released a statement on its progress as the investigation continues.

Here's an excerpt:

Quote:While the evidence thus far supports the conclusion that footballs that were under-inflated were used by the Patriots in the first half, the footballs were properly inflated for the second half and confirmed at the conclusion of the game to have remained properly inflated. The goals of the investigation will be to determine the explanation for why footballs used in the game were not in compliance with the playing rules and specifically whether any noncompliance was the result of deliberate action. We have not made any judgments on these points and will not do so until we have concluded our investigation and considered all of the relevant evidence.

I'll be here all day folks.
The fact that no one else commented on this really opens my eyes to the level of my maturity! :woot:  Wallbash

Trying to get all the evidence before making accusations. What a crazy world we live in. Smile

If they lose a draft pick I would say it matters, Captain Obvious.

Sounds like they aren't going to do a darn thing from reading that.

honestly, just didn't make sense. I am very low on the maturity level too.

Balls have been deflated by coming in a box....

innuendo...

nobody?  Crickets?
So, here's what we have.  The balls were properly inflated at the start of the game when given to the Pats staff.  At halftime, the balls were retested, and 11/12 of the Pats balls were under-inflated, some up to 2 psi under regulation.  The balls were also retested AFTER the game, and were found to have been RE-inflated to within regulation psi.

So somebody deflated the balls before or during the first half and re-inflated them sometime between halftime and the end of the game.  Brady says he tells the equipment manager he prefers them to be as soft as possible within the regs, which is 12.5 psi.  This establishes that Brady does prefer a softer ball, and would likely want it to be inflated less then 12.5 if the rules allowed it.  Brady also said he did not notice the 2-psi softer balls during the game, which I find very unlikely.  It makes no sense that somebody who makes a living gripping, handling, and throwing a 12.5 psi ball would not notice doing those things with a 10/5 psi ball.

Belichick also has likely perjured himself by denying any knowledge of the issue until he saw it on the news.  He had to know that the Pats' footballs were confiscated and inspected by the officials at halftime.  He's not a very skilled liar.

They are going to try bluffing their way through the next 8 days, as any admission regarding the deflated balls would take QB and/or coach out of the big game.  They are hoping the NFL will not have time to do a complete investigation in that time.  I don't think it matters, because the Seahawks will win easily.  But I'm sick of Belichick and Brady's skirting of the rules.  They will probably just be fined and maybe lose a draft pick, but will be allowed to continue playing and coaching in the NFL.  I say their careers are already destroyed no matter what happens going forward.

Uhhhhh, most of what's discussed doesn't matter, no one talking about it has the power to change it.

For the Patriots? Even that doesn't really matter.

just wow. It sounds like you conducted your own special investigation and found the Patriots to be despicable humans. It seems you then sentence them to be beaten, shamed and banished to Turkmenistan. I'm impressed?

Do you mind if i email this to some friends?

Its hilarious.
I wonder if deflated footballs explains why the Patriots have been this suspiciously good with fumbles. This is eye opening:
