The Pats probably thought it was such a stupid thing to cry about, a stupid lie didn't matter. I don't think they realized the world is gunning for them and the league is in full scale political correctness mode. This is a cash cow trying to shoot itself, it's incredible.

I, for one, take Derpgate VERY seriously.
Quote:Now Brady's legal team is saying Goodell can't arbitrate the case, because they intend to make Goodell the focus of the case. They want to investigate Goodell's part in the frame up, LOL.
Are they trying to say Goodell fondled Brady's balls too?
Quote:I, for one, take Derpgate VERY seriously.
Clearly, you deserve a cookie.
Quote:Does anyone think Kraft would actually follow through on his threats to out everyone?
Not a chance, he's just blowing smoke. His arrogance is typical of the organization though.
Nothing Brady counters with will change my view of him. I knew he was a cheater before Deflate Gate even happened.
These idiots think they can save their legacy by continuing to appeal until they find a sympathetic arbiter or judge. It won't matter. They cheated, they lied, they covered it up, and continue to cover up while attacking everyone having to do with the investigation and punishment process.
Any grudging respect NFL fans had for that franchise is eroding quickly. They are a disgrace.
Quote:LOL... I have no dog in the fight and don't care either way.
Truth is... they didn't get all the facts, which are part of the problem. They came up short. They got a good picture, but not the whole picture.
Think about it, please. Instead of gnashing teeth.
If they were solely concerned about the rules, all they needed to do was send a simple letter to the Pats. It would have stated that, due to reports of alleged ball deflation, they would be in charge of all game balls to ensure their proper inflation throughout the game.
Did they take such steps to ensure rules weren't broken?
Nope.
They let it happen.
Let that sink in.
They did absolutely nothing to ensure rules weren't broken.
Why?
Well, you seem smart. Think about it.
Not actually resolving the issue was more profitable in both money, and in story.
They weren't punished for breaking the rule. The punishment came for covering it up.
And again, if they cared about the rule, the rule would have been simple to enforce if that was truly what they wanted to accomplish.
If the league cared about how inflated the balls were they wouldn't have 2 gauges that measure different readings on the same ball.
here here!
1.) The psi of a football is inherently dynamic. Any attempt by the league especially in cold weather games to passively control (one inspection before the game) the psi with any accuracy flies in the face of plain scientific fact.
2.) Based on the measurements of one gauge used on the patriots footballs at halftime of the AFC Championship the Recorded PSI falls within the expected range given the temperature difference on the field as set forth by the league consultants, and this gauge to the best of the officials recollection was the one he used for his pre-game inspection. So by the admission of the league consultants and the testimony of the game official there isn't any proof that the balls were deflated, text messages be darned.
3.) It is a violation of the same rule that the pats were sanctioned under for a team to use a gauge on a game ball for any reason during the game which the colts violated by gauging the ball intercepted by the colts, and this is after Jaguars personnel previously caught the colts with needles and gauges during one of their games and the colts were warned so in essence this is their second proven violation of the above rule not "more probable than not having general knowledge"
4.) The investigation and the NFL disregard the fact that during a Jets Game the officials violated the same playing rules and over inflated the game balls by nearly three pounds which incited one of the text threads between McNally and Jastremski.
5.) for a comparison of culture, you had Tom Brady going PSYCHO tom on Jastremski and the entire equipment staff because the balls were terrible due to officals over inflating them and they couldn't do anything about it. They didn't pull out a secret needle or a gauge during the game because they understood such a thing would be a violation of league rules. The colts on the other hand just have gauges and needles ready and able in case they need them. This alone given their prior history destroys the idea of difference in psi drop having to due with pats tampering and not potential colts tampering.
6.) When measuring the colts footballs at halftime, the first time that they got to a football that averaged below league limits THEY STOPPED MEASURING FOOTBALLS. Think about that. Ball 4 on measured at 12.55 and 12.15 psi respectively, and then we get this malarkey about running out of time. Keep in mind two things. 1.) the start of the game had already been delayed ten minutes so a few more wouldn't hurt if you're really in the middle of an objective sting. 2.) The entire foundation of the leagues case against the pats is that a fat old guy can take a dozen footballs out of a bag and uniformly meter deflate and rebag them in 40 seconds, but 2 league officials and a security guy couldn't meter 8 more footballs without destroying the continuity of a game schedule. Think about that!
7.) When McNally was making his so called theft of the game balls he went to the sitting room with other league officials including those who received the colts initial complaint about football PSI and no one said anything or highlighted anything out of the oridinary.
8.) You can't both defend the accuracy of a PSI gauge being used and then ignore the fact that it was immediately contradicted.
9.) there is no chain of evidence for the PSI of the balls given the fact that the colts have a track record of having needles with game personell, the fact that the game official had two gauges, the fact that even the wells report doesn't think the data was recorded correctly and, surprise surprise, as soon as the data began to show something aside from the idea that the pats intentionally cheated they STOPPED TESTING THE COLTS FOOTBALLS.
If you brought this in a criminal proceeding the prosecutor would be cited for misconduct.
10.) Most importantly, they had McNally's phone and Jastremski's phone I think 48 hours after the AFC championship game. If there was some darning text from Tom Brady it would have been on one of their devices. These incessant requests for more interviews and more information are the leagues B.S. cover up for not having concrete proof that the balls were actually DEFLATED to begin with. This is how witch hunts go. They accuse you of something, they find no evidence and then you get convicted of perjury because you didn't remember if it was 5 o clock or 6 o clock that you left the office. They have not proven that the balls were tampered with, so they have to come out with this B.S. about a missed interview and not turning over brady's phone even though they couldn't find any communication on the devices of either of his alleged co conspirators. If they asked me to produce the texts I had pertaining to the death of Jimmy Hoffa I would have a hard time too!!!
In summation, the league ignored blatant recorded violations by the colts, potential violations by its own officials, was oblivious to the fact that game memorabilia was being taken by its own employees and had no protocols in place to safeguard the integrity of game balls or actively manage PSI in inclement weather. Given all that, the idea that they can take what little evidence they have and bring the hammer down on the premier franchise in American sports is fundamentally mind boggling to me.
Not to mention the fact that in recorded direct violations of the same rules (heating a ball during a cold weather game in front of the sideline heaters) everyone else gets a warning, even though they were directly instructed not to do it pre-game. The pats, get no written warning, no notification and no concrete evidence that they actually deflated the ball and this is where we are... unbelievable.
All they had to do is say, hey we can't prove anything but we are going to take these three common sense steps to have an NFL ball boy maintain chain of custody over the balls and ensure at the end of each quarter the PSI of the footballs is kept in this range. But that's not as sexy as putting Tom Terrific in his place so I guess we'll see you in court.
Everybody uses the alleged 16 PSI balls in the Jets game to suggest the Pats were not cheating, and claim that fits in with the texts, too.
I read the texts and the situation completely differently. Those ball boys were pushing back against Brady's tyranny, and probably over-inflated balls themselves in the Jets game to put Brady in his place. Note the reference to Brady's QB rating taking a dive and multiple references to "rugbys" and "watermelons". They were PO'd at Brady for making them cheat, and blackmailing him for high-dollar memorabilia like signed, game-worn jerseys.
These same clowns likely blackmailed Bob Kraft for 7-figure hush money, too.

You wasted a lot of time writing that and never mention the fact that 2 guys from the pats are implicated in a conspiracy to deflate balls. Those two guys also mention Brady in their conversation. This two guys also started getting compensation from Brady...
Lol, they cheated. Brady was a part of it. They have a history of cheating. Trying to use science to deflect away from the conspiracy and never mention that conspiracy is sad...
Just sad.
They cheated. They are cheaters.
Lol... Think about what you just said. You just said don't let the fact that there's no real evidence the footballs were deflated detract from the speculation that there was a conspiracy to deflate said footballs. That's like saying that I conspired to slash someone's tires and the tires haven't been slashed. You have to start with if a crime or violation was actually committed before you infer a conspiracy.
Secondly, I have read all the relevant texts between jastremski and McNally who I mentioned in my detailed post but I guess that you missed it.
At no time do they discuss any plan to intentionally deflate footballs after the referees inspection to a level in violation of rule 2. At no time do they mention that tom brady instructed them to deflate footballs after the referees inspection and below a level as set forth in rule 2.
It is the inherent duty of the ball boys to inflate or deflate a footballs as part of the preparation for the game within the allowed range to the QB's specifications. So just using the term inflate or deflate doesn't mean tampering after the inspection of the ref. That would be like saying just because I sent a text about driving my car I must be talking about driving with an alcohol level above the legal limit. That's not a direct one to one inference.
As for compensation, it is the standard practice of QB's to tip ball boys and attendants with cash and other gifts. If you tip the bell boy or your waiter that doesn't mean you were paying her to kill your wife or embezzle from your company. It just means that you were trying to be nice. Autographs and sneakers are hardly proof that Tom Brady was conspiring to have balls inflated after the refs inspection to a level in direct violation of rule 2.
And you wrote so little I guess its just more convenient for you to ignore the fact that on one gauge used, the patriots balls are EXACTLY as the leagues own consultants believed they would be if they were inflated to the proper level and exposed to game conditions consistent with the AFC Championship game. because hey, they took video of signals from the sideline 8 years ago or something. So anyone who got a speeding ticket should be automatically at fault if they get rear ended at a stop light right.

I am still waiting for Kraft and the Pats to address exactly what the texts between the 2 Pats equipments guys were referring to. We all read the texts.
Kraft conveniently left out any explanation of what they were referring to when they were texting each other, in his rebuttal to the Wells report.
The lawyer said it was about weight loss, but that's what lawyers get paid to do, think up outlandish explanations for things that put their clients in a negative light, because some people just might believe it.

In their response to the NFL, they said the guy nicknamed "The Deflator" was nicknamed that because he was losing weight. No seriously, thats what they said.
Everyone can come up with a 1000 conspiracies that they didn't cheat, but we all knew they did it. Add that to the fact that they have had a history of getting caught cheating and then Tom Brady not complying with his text messages (we all know what that would have led to) and then the NFL not being allowed to interview the Deflator after they found out he had the nickname of the Freaking Deflator.
No cover up here, right?
Reading comments on articles/Facebook about this is even worse than Jag fans trying to justify what the Pats did. Pats fans are more disellusioned than people here. Tom Brady can do no wrong!
