Quote:I find this funny since air is hardly an Ideal Gas. In fact my memory from thermodynamics classes is an ideal gas is a hypothetical gas anyway. Also, air is a compressible gas yet if IRRC the Ideal Gas Law applies to noncompressible gasses.
Regards.......................the Chiefjag
The ideal gas law applies to compressible gasses. It has a pressure term in the equation. Gasses are compressible. Liquids are not.

Googling "air as an ideal gas" I saw a lot of statements that air can be well approximated as an ideal gas.

Dude Malabar Jag get over it the Pats cheated stop trying to defend them.
What is your obsession with the Pats you prob think they didn't do anything wrong during spygate as well.
The Pats have a history of cheating so get over it.

I'm not defending the Pats, and I think the penalty imposed was a slap on the wrist. I'm complaining about the pathetic mess of a report by Wells that doesn't prove anything, with a conclusion that doesn't agree with the measurements. For the one game where the pressures were measured at halftime the measurements fit what was expected for un-deflated balls, if Walt Anderson's memory is correct. If the Pats cheated in that game, they botched it. Given their history they probably cheated in other games and in other ways, but the report was about the air pressure of the footballs in the AFC Title game. The air pressures were OK. It was not a murder because the supposed victim is still alive.

Lol. You just don't get it, do you Malabar? You don't. (Using best Dr. Evil voice)
The story is not about the iceberg, crazy. It's about the boat!
It's no longer about the iceberg or even the boat, it's about the owner of the shipping line. Kraft is making this a Patriots versus NFL thing. He's a spoiled child who got paddled in public and now is crying even louder.
EIGHT YEARS OF CHEATING is at risk of being explored and exposed if Kraft wants to play patty-cake. Bring it on, Bobby. You'll be back to peddling razor blades on cable TV, with your former team stripped of all titles.
This would have been over with along time ago if the Patriots and Tom awesome Brady would have just cooperated with Wells.
Any argument that can be made for Brady is just ridiculous at this point. There is no reason why he couldn't have just gave Wells the text or emails. There is also no reason for the Patriots to deny Wells a second interview with the Deflator. All this just points to more guilt for Brady and the Patriots they obviously don't want something getting out that would point without a shadow of a doubt they cheated.
This entire drama/sideshow would have never happened had the NFL actually enforced the rules.

I love this defense. The Pats are known cheats, but this is the NFL's fault.
people are more concerned about being "right" then finding the truth
So McNalley or how ever you say his name was calling himself the deflator because he's fat.
That statement right there proves to me 100% that the Patriots are guilty. They should have gotten a worse punishment after coming up with that.
So... we're OK with what Tom Brady did?
Just shove aside the fact that he broke a rule for his benefit. Regardless of whether it actually had an impact or effect on the game itself.
Fine... let's do that. Let's pretend that whatever happened with the balls had NO EFFECT on the game at all. No harm no foul right?
But the idea that this guy, perpetuated this whole situation, involved lackies (fall guy equipment managers), allegedly paid them with autographs and such, didn't turn over evidence (text messages) that would condemn or exonerate him, and very nonchalantly laughed the whole thing off in an on stage interview at some college.
This guy, the whole organization, from Kraft to Bill to Tom to ex players like Willie... think the Pats are untouchable.
4 games is nothing. The draft pick is nothing.
They should just take their lumps and move on.
The report told us what we all already knew. Once a cheat, always a cheat.
Keep the rings and the trophies and the awards...
and the asterisk(s).

It's completely idiotic. That response alone is a complete joke and if they really think everyone that watches NFL football is that stupid to believe it then they should get fined even more.
Because they are completely oblivious.....8 game suspension now, 10 million dollar fine, and lets take a few more picks away.

Not defending anything. I thought you were more intelligent than that.
LOL... looks like I'm not the only one who thinks the NFL is beginning to resemble the WWE.

I love the hate Goodell gets. If he suspended him 1 game we'd have the same threads complaining about how it wasn't long enough from some. Could you imagine if it was none? We'd hear about how the Patriots have him in their pocket and he is Kraft's boy.
He gives them a pretty harsh sentence because they decided not to go along with the investigation fully, and people like you guys want to call it the WWE.
The guy is literally in a no win situation.....and I would imagine he doesn't care because he's making boat loads of cash for it. I wouldn't care.
The Patriots are ridiculous. They're coming out now saying McNally was referring to his weight when he referred to himself as "The Deflator". Bunch of Morons.

That punishment is closer to what I feel it should have been to begin with.

Pretty weak defense.
Brady has appealed his suspension.
