They will not suspend Brady lol. Brady can do no wrong. He'll just be hit with a fine that will be chump change for him. At worst the Cheatriots will lose a 5th round pick in next year's draft.

But I'm hoping for a suspension for at least 4 games. That way he won't torch the Jags defense.
Quote:Goodell would be a fool to give out a slap on the wrist. Its going to have to be a multi game ban no shorter than 10 games (preferably 1 year) or he's going to face backlash like he's never seen.Knowingly deflating balls and bribing the ball boys deserves at least a suspension if not more.

On a related note that would be good news for the Jags!

The Jimmy Garoppolo era may start sooner than expected.

Doubt he would get anywhere near ten games because they don't have definite proof, just circumstantial evidence. Anyways, this is something most QBs in the league do, despite the outage, and the absolute harshest I'd see them come down on Brady is four games. That will be more for bribing the ball boys and refusing to cooperate than anything else. I'm sure the ball boys will be fired and probably get yearlong plus suspensions since there's more evidence against them and they'll be the scapegoats anyways.

LOL... perfect
Quote:the "more probable than not" conclusion was being generous.  if you look at the evidence for yourself, it's obvious that Brady was behind it.

Facts were never your strong point.  They speak for themselves, much better than you speaking for them.  Yet again.
The disappointing part of it all, is that after all this time they've come up with nothing more than what they started with.

They've proven the smoke, and that they're pretty sure there was a fire behind it and where that fire was probably located.  But still have no idea who started it.

As a Pats fan also, this really sucks for Brady and all Pats fans. We will never here the end of this.
Why didn't they just give the ball to Marshawn...
Looking at the test chart, interesting to note that each test of the ball dropped it .4-.5 pounds per test.  Both Colts and NE.

So, if someone had a meter, they would know how many pounds the ball was dropping based on how many "checks" were done on the ball.

Bump...
Quote:never seen a franchise cheat so much...

Really? care to share what all the "cheating" you've seen is?

Nvm...

All the enablers who brushed it off and made jokes can eat crow.  The Patriots under Belichick are systemic cheaters, and Tom Brady is the worst kind of liar, the Mr. Smug outraged at any hints of impropriety and who won't cooperate with the investigation.  He should be banned from the game.

The NFL has essentially acted as an accomplice in these matters, by allowing the Patriots to continue in the playoffs after being caught, and by delaying the report for political reasons.  I don't expect the penalties to have much sting or to affect the way the Patriots view the game.

Nor do I expect the NFL to do the logical thing and take the investigation to previous games and seasons.  There is no physical evidence, but there is statistical analysis showing clearly that the Patriots' turnovers in outdoor games and bad weather games decreased radically compared to the rest of the league, starting 6 or 7 years ago.  This was not some equipment boys doing Brady a favor for 1 game, but a Core Strategy spanning many years.

Get ready for the slap on the wrist and for the incident never to be mentioned again by the league or the team.  Can't go tainting the most successful duo of cheaters in league history, can we?

This thread is the gift that keeps on giving!!

calm down.  sorry for having an opinion.

Yes, the facts speak for themselves... and IN MY OPINION they point to Brady.

Im not even sure what you are trying to say.  You are that bothered that I left out the "more probable than not" qualifier?  You read the report and came to the conclusion that this had nothing to do with Brady?  Clearly, it did.

I mean, what is incorrect about my original statement?  You are going to read that report and come to the conclusion that Brady and these two equipment guys weren't involved?

"Colts general manager Ryan Grigson confirmed at the NFL's scouting combine in February that his team alerted the league to its concern during the week prior to the game."

So...the Colts alerted the league not the day of the game, but a day or more BEFORE the game.  Were the Colts psychic?  How could they know the Pats were going to deflate balls for this ONE GAME?  Only way is if they knew they had done it before.  Did the NFL investigate this?  Did they ask the Colts when they first suspected the violation?

It sounds like the NFL doesn't really want to know when the deflation practice started.  I wonder why not?

I think its just from players intercepting the ball earlier in the season or somehow touching the ball and realizing its too flat.  They tell coaches, ect. and here we are.

Ha!!

Made me think of this too.

Oh Boy...text messages between the equipment guys before SEVERAL games in 2014.  Saying Tom sux because he complained about too much air.  They teased that they would blow them up like rugby balls next time.  Sounds like ol' smug Tommy Boy is not too well-liked by the minions doing his dirty work.  But is also sounds like they bent him over to extort cash and "newkicks".  Shoes?  Brady gave them signed memorabilia before the AFC Championship game.

Quote:Brady will probably be fined, and that's about it.  If that.

Really? That's probably what Sean Payton thought as well.
Quote:To the Colts, that's like a Stephen King novel.

It probably will be required reading in the Indiana Public Schools system.

This is way less serious than bounty gate
