Quote:So question. Did Bortles lose the game today? YES he did. He was the reason we lost.

No. An idiot coach sending a in a rookie who muffs a punt and a porous defense who let an injured Fitzpatrick have his way is why.

Riiiiiight
Quote:Bortles has his bright spots, but he sucks. This guy throws atleast 1 INT a game. 3 TO's for this guy alone. I was a HUGE supporter of his, but this is really bad. I don't even think Gabbert was this bad, and that is saying ALOT!

I literally can't even this post. Dude throws for almost 400 yards and 2 td's and he's getting roasted on here. The turnovers suck, but he's the reason we were even in the game with 2:00 to go.
Realistic john has 190 posts and there are all in this thread. trolling down the riveeeeer

Right because the stats tell it all.  Sorry, you guys just looking at 400 yards and 2 TDs...he had 3 turnovers and another multiple interception game.  Almost had 3 interceptions if Revis didn't drop the one that hit his chest.

it's hard to take you seriously chump
Bortles is alright but Carr is better and it ain't close. Just gotta hope he stops the idiotic interceptions he loves to give up.

Saw some bad plays but he's the sole reason we were in that game

And he would have had one if Robinson catches that slant like a normal receiver should. Bortles is playing without a defense and pressure in his face every other play. Bortles is not the problem.
Quote:How many turn overs does Bortles have vs Gabbert. I'd love to see that stat!
You have forgotten how bad it was in the gabbert henne years

I was a Gabbert apologist but bortles is in another stratosphere it's just ridiculously obvious

He just needs to know when to Let the play go and throw it away

Nor is he the answer.

I agree.  Like I said, his turnovers are becoming detrimental to this team.  I've never said this before, but I feel sorry for Gus (sometimes).  Bortles continues to screw him with the turnovers every game.

Gabbert sucks, no questions asked.  Bortles needs to make smarter decisions, but he's just forcing everything and staring down his receivers.

Would you rather have Henne or Tuel? Because we've seen Henne and it wasn't good and Tuel is on the practice squad for a reason.

It's really not that bad and he looks off the safety loads more than he used too as well btw... Hurns td for example

It's a balance

If bortles just found his checkdown the exciting and sometimes explosive offense wouldn't be as good

He makes plays out of nothing sometimes grabs first downs under heavy pressure.

He needs to find the balance and that will come with time.

The results aren't always great but watching bb5 is one of the most exciting things about this jags team

Or he could have had just 1 if not for the deflected fly ball. Goes both ways

Do you even football?

Why is being better than guys who have no business being anything more than career backups the benchmark for acceptable QB play? You don't take a guy #3 overall to be just another guy (well, he is a JAG).
Quote:It takes Bortles a fraction of the time to release the ball than it took that dude.  That wind-up was just stoopid-dumb.

Bortles is still raw but he thankfully doesn't have to overcome that aberration of a wind-up/release.

BB5's biggest issue at this point, in my mind, is that he lacks so much confidence in his team that he tries too hard...

LOL, you're talking to a tack troll...  You must realize he doesn't know anything about Jaguar football....
It's sad that BB5's 2nd year is wasted with this awefull HC...

He's clearly the best QB in the AFCS
