Also, notice how I gave up Tony Romo?  I mean, that guy hasn't played since week 2 and he's always injured.  But I've conceded that QB that hasn't played in over 2 months and may not be back to his normal self for this season.

I mean, as of right now, there are quite a few "obvious" choices that are not really having good years.  And Russell Wilson, while I will concede him for the sake of not having the arguement, is nothing more than a glorified Collin Keapernick with better coaching.  I'd take a true pocket QB like BB5 over Wilson any day.  You gotta remember that Russel Wilson has benefitted from having a great RB in Beast Mode.  Beast Mode has fallen off quite a bit, and thus the Seahawks are not all that good this year...

Again, I have very little respect for spread option QBs like Wilson and Marietattas.  These types of QBs are flash in the pans, and never stay long term...

Then again there are a few other guys out there where it's tough to argue that Blake is really better than them. For instance, I know he's been struggling, but Matt Stafford just beat the Packers today and routinely puts up big time yards. Jay Cutler has also been very impressive this season, and today the Bears just knocked off the Rams by a score of 37-13. Tannehill beat the Eagles today, and previously blew out the Titans and Texans. Flacco showed off his deep arm yet again today and has had some epic performances in Playoff games. You also still have to give it up for Cam who you know is better despite similar stats.

As for Romo, of course you have to include him. Sure he's been hurt, but he's easily up there when healthy.

Honestly....the future of the NFL at the QB position is Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr, Blake Bortles, Andrew Luck. The jury is still out on Mariota and Winston. I actually know 2 NFL scouts who think Bortles will end up being a top 1-3 QB in the league. The guy who told me this was a former GM of 2 NFL teams
Quote:There is a difference there though. One has a large history of success, super bowl wins, and many other passing records/accolades. The other is a guy who is consistently inaccurate and struggles to make good decisions.

Super Bowl win, as in 1 win, not wins.
I hope Bortles is not regressing. He looked very bad today. His throwing motion was like last years, the football was wobbling. Looked jittery at times.
Look at what Alex Smith is doing to the Broncos today. It's 22-0 Chiefs in the middle of the 3rd quarter.

Off topic, but while we're at it - Peyton Manning has 9 TD's and 17 INT's so far this season. I didn't expect him to decline so rapidly.

It'll be interesting to see what Elway does this offseason. I'm guessing Peyton becomes the Texans next qb.

The Broncos just benched Petyon for Osweiler.

Nah you just don't understand football. The guy is an obvious top 12 qb at minimum.

Manning's gonna retire, he's done.

Just got benched!

Actually you are close to on topic.

One might actually call P Manning PMINT as his numbers today are 5/20 35 yds 0 TDs 4 Ints. Yep you are seeing that right, and right now there is 6:34 left in the 3rd Qtr. OUCH!!!!

 It's Brock Osweiller time.

Not a chance. This is Peyton's last season 100%

Yep, it has to be.

It looks like he will retire with at least 1 less SB ring then younger brother Eli.

The Broncos go BO.

Maybe Osweiler will be average, their D continues to dominate, and Peyton wins his 2nd ring as a backup  :teehee:

Placeholder.. Brunell style..

Yeah, until then he'll still be tied with Mark Brunell for Super Bowl rings.
Quote:I saw him really 'lead' that final sequence. Defender drops an easy pick, he trips over himself and gets bailed out by a flag. Sure looked like a top 12 QB completing 48% of his passes at a pitiful 4.1 YPA on one of the worst defenses against the NFL. They were gifted turnover after turnover and great field position and Bortles couldn't do anything with it. A win is a win, but to pretend Bortles was anything but horrific is laughable.
Manning just got benched. He's had a horrible career too huh? Go away.
