Peyton finished with a zero quarterback rating. As you probably know, zero is the lowest possible ranking as there's no such thing as a negative rating.

BB5 is slightly ahead, just even, or slightly behind players like Flacco, Cutler, Stafford, and even Matt Ryan...  Yeah, Matt Ryan is having a really good year this year, but he looked terrible the last 2 years.

 

To me, it's easy to put BB5 in that 3rd tier of QBs.  He's not Elite, but he's clearly above average.

 

1st tier are the HOF caliber QBs.  Your Brady's and Rodgers.  Top of their game, and clearly gonna be in Canton.

2nd Tier are your pro-bowl QBs.  Your E.Mannings, Rothlesburger, P. Rivers, T. Romo type QBs...  BB5 isn't there yet.

3rd Tier are your above average QBs.  BB5 is easily right in this spot.  That puts him in the top 12-15 conversation.

 

It's easy to see BB5 in that conversation.  The 3rd tier QBs make mistakes, they also put thier teams in the position to win games and make the playoffs.  If that's not what BB5 is, you don't know football.

I don't hate him, I just think its wrong to call him one of the top 10-12 QBs in the league when he can't even crack the top 20 on most standard measures of QB play. The guy has a ton of potential, but to pretend he's a legit franchise QB and one of the best in the league is a joke.

I never thought he was, just that if you're going to crown Bortles based on his performances this season, then you have to admit Mariota is legit too because he beats him out on nearly every metric of measurement for QB play.

How many games has Manchurainiota played?  How many turn over's does he have in those games?  How many wins does he have compared to BB5?

Lets forget things like TD:INT ratio, TD rate, INT rate, completion percentage, YPA, QB rating, completion % on 3rd down, QB rating in the redzone, and any other metric where Mariota is clearly superior. Or if you'd rather just do a straight up comparison of Mariota's first 7 games to Borltes first 7, then it might be a little more clear to you that they are on very different career trajectories.

You try too hard, and it makes you look quite pathetic.  It's actually very sad for a PhD candidate.  I honestly am concerned that if you have this much trouble looking at emprical data and how it translates into football, you probably are gonna have a heck of a time getting your thesis approved by an actual PhD program.  Unless you are a student at Bovine University.  Then your tripe should squeeze through as easy as the excrement you try to push on us here in the Jungle...
