Well yes, if the illness or drug use caused one of them to fight their way into the cockpit and crash the plane then it's exactly the same as George resisting cops and fighting his way out of the backseat of the car.

The people in Callahan and Hilliard are gonna be so pissed!   Funny story... when TP was flying off the shelves and people were stocking up, we stayed a weekend in our camper on some in-laws property.  They are in that area.  We hit up a dollar General in St George,Ga.  (if you ever have the chance to go, don’t!).  My wife likes a certain butt tissue.  Low and behold, the ONLY [BLEEP] tissue they had was the one she liked, and the mega freaking awesome bring your pick ‘em up truck size!!!  We’ve hit paydirt!!!!! Woohoo.  Then I was humbled.  Sad that something so seemingly innocent is readily available in areas like that.

Racist as hell that now it's obligatory to devote an entire sentence or paragraph to his skin color.

The kid is at fault here. Air soft guns can look like the real thing from a distance. And he was in a firing stance and pulled a knife after he was shot the first time. Dumb kid is a dead kid.

How does someone not know an air soft gun from a real one? My niece just got one for her birthday. They have a big, bright orange tip that can be seen 100 yards away? There was absolutely no excuse for the knife though. Pull a knife on a cop and you should expect to get shot or at the very least, tazed.

If they spray paint the tip....

This is where the parents should be punished as well. It's people's job as parents to make sure that their kids don't pull this kind of crap. If they spray paint it, they get the gun taken away.

Parents should do a lot of things they can't or won't do. Sadly it ends like this from time to time and they'll carry that burden the rest of their lives.

I have an air soft BB gun that would look like a .22 from 5ft. away.  No orange on any of it.  Regardless of that, if something is drawn and pointed at you, you have a split second to react.  Do you shoot or not shoot?
The verdict is supposed to be read at 4:30 EST. I hope Chauvin is found guilty, even if it's on one of the lesser chargers. I believe that he killed George Floyd and needs to go to prison.

If he doesn't there is definitely going to  be a lot of havoc wrecked in this country. I think we could have more riots, buildings including small businesses being burned, etc... We could see some more lives lost as a result of this verdict. I already read news that National Guards are being deployed because people aren't trusting the Jurors to make the right decision, which I believe is a guilty verdict.

If Chauvin is acquitted he needs to keep an extremely low profile. He does not need to be a constant reminder that he is a stain on society like George Zimmerman was after the Trayvon Martin verdict. Every time you turned around Zimmerman was making news for assaulting, threatening someone (in multiple cases his wife or one of his girlfriends) getting into various altercations, including being shot at, and just being all around a dumpster fire in communities.
George Floyd killed himself with a lifetime of stupid, bad, stupid, criminal decisions.

And if there are riots I hope the law-abiding actually stand up and kill the rioters. All of them.

If people aren't careful some of the "law abiding" citizens may end up getting killed. It could be a lot of havoc either way. Some of people (including those who think Chauvin is innocent) will almost certainly have businesses destroyed/burned down. Best thing to do is stay out of the way and try and stay safe.

Chauvin and his actions are disgusting. I can only hope he serves a lengthy term in prison.
SCOTUS should overrule any rulings made.

I doubt that will happen. Depending on what happens there will be an appeal made, but I don't see them getting involved. Some people brought up in the other thread about there almost being a mistrial due to Maxine Water's comments. I'm glad that the judge didn't grant that. While I don't condone anyone potentially suggesting people riot, in the grand scheme of things her opinion wasn't going to make a difference regarding the Jurors. From what I understand they were told not to watch the news, so if they followed that order they didn't see it anyway. And if Chauvin is not found guilty on something, riots are probably going to happen regardless.  A mistrial is not going to prevent riots, it would help incite them.

We can't be a country where the threat of violence dictates jury decisions. This should have been a sequestered jury from the start. I won't weigh in my opinion on the outcome, but a sitting POTUS and congresswoman can't be involved like this, even if we are pretending the jurors aren't aware of it.
