I’m not even upset about that. My wife on the other hand…. It’s just a letter. In the decade and a half we’ve been here I think we’ve gotten 3. All stupid bull [BLEEP] that has already been taken care of prior to the letter.
I did hear a story from another hood, that has the same management company as mine, someone got a letter on the lawn not being cut. The owner came back with something about “it’s natural” or a “natural look”. Apparently they let him off the hook. Idk how or why though since I’m sure the bylaws or whatever specifically state to keep a maintained lawn. Either way, I found it funny. Mainly because they don’t live next door to me.
We're in a flood plain, so a lot of people have "rain gardens" which is usually just overgrowth of ferns and invasives....I can't get grass to grow, despite my best efforts.

Because it's one of those things you buy, use a bit, leave it in the fridge until it goes bad - which is exactly the time you think about having Tex-Mex again and realize you didn't buy sour cream as you thought the one in the fridge would be OK.
I am a big fan of "once you open [thing] add it to the grocery list."
Nothing worse than needing something and discovering you're out, and nobody made this fact known. Same goes for pantry - we have cans of soup, boxes of baggies, etc. If you take something from there, put it on the list right then, no need to have to stand in front of shelves guessing what's missing when making your shopping list.
But of course, this is never taken as someone offering helpful suggestions, @I'm ornery old fart who doesn't really know how shopping for groceries works@

I’m a “doer” too! But I think we’re trying to do two different things. And yes, if you open something, you definitely need another on deck. You may even need a pinch hitter or runner. Screw double redundancy. I’ll take triple redundancy when it come to eating. I was either too keen or stupid to buy my family a 4 month’s supply of food that’ll last 25 years. I’m not sure if I am ready for it, or hoping for it.

This actually happened to me in college in 1978, before I was married. Except i didnt spend $150, it was more like $40, which was a small fortune then. I got her back tho, ended up sleeping with her roommate a couple of times. 70's version of revenge porn, i suppose.

The battery in my truck died Friday evening. What is noteworthy is it died suddenly. It went from a strong cranking battery to one that wouldn't even power the brake light relay in a matter of less than a minute. I've never had a battery go like that. Luckily it gave up the ghost after I parked in my driveway. It was still under warranty and cost nothing to replace, however, when talking to the manager at the Autozone, he told me that is how they fail now. I don't know if he's correct, but if so, that's a little unsettling. Had it happened a few minutes before, I would have been stranded a couple miles from home.

Unfortunately, because you were pulled out of the first game early, we can't officially credit you with a doubleheader. Well done for scoring with the roommate though. More points are awarded for a roommate than a cousin, but still less than best friend. Mother/daughter remains the ultimate conquest, but that's best left for those of us with expertise in such matters.
