I cooked our steaks tonight, and while they tasted good (because I cooked them), they were a little tough.

Completely frozen!

This seems so counterintuitive that I had to look it up. It's a thing!

I was kind of wondering about that as well. Almost googled it. Thanks for posting the video. Still goes against everything I know. But if I’m in the mood to cook a steak inside, I may have to try that.

Well it’s encouraging to hear tri-tip is available in some places. It’s a wonderful cut of meat that’s absolutely wonderful marinated and grilled.

In the Central Valley of California where SF is, it’s a staple.

In every grocery store, we probably have 6 different variations of tri-tip available.

You guys should talk to your butcher about it. If they don't use it they'd probably get it for you pretty cheap.

Did he season it at all?  I just don’t know how it would stick if it’s frozen.  I don’t mind an unseasoned steak, but I like to add stuff to them.

I think he seasoned them as they cooked, but I honestly didn’t pay that much attention to how he did it.
I’ll give it a shot. Always up to try a new recipe. Thanks.
I prefer to cook steak thawed to room temperature seasoned with a bit of salt and pepper.  Sear on high heat around 2 minutes per side for a 1 inch steak and serve.

That’s about how I do it.  Except, here lately, I’ve found putting prime rib rub on them first is heavenly.  Maybe it’s the rosemary in it, idk.  But very nice!

You could season before freezing them.

Garlic/pepper and salt. Using a heavy cast iron skillet heated on medium high. Sear on one side and after flipping, drop a big dollop of real butter in the skillet and continuously spoon over the steaks until cooked to medium rare. Better than Longhorns!

Very true.  Unless your wife throws them straight in the freezer.  But given the option, I am not sure I can intentionally freeze it first. Just seems so...wrong.

First of all, any transaction that begins in the Walmart parking lot with, "Pssst, hey buddy, wanna great deal...." is buyer beware.

Second, buying steaks out of the back of an unmarked panel van is never a good idea.

Third, if you had remembered your reading glasses, you might have noticed the label read, "Palatka", not "Omaha" Steaks.

They did taste a little gamey. But what really sealed the deal was how they pre-tenderized them with a car tire. How clever is that?

Was the guy wearing golf shoes?  That usually means a special on cube steak.

I can’t stand when somebody interrupts me while I’m speaking.. whether it’s to say something or they notice something else and rudely interrupt me. Huge pet peeve

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Interrupting cow.
Interrupting cow w..
Moo!
MiL says twice as "twiced" and only in FL have I heard people say ask as "ast" (not asked, present tense, ask.) Both just cause my brain to skid.

"Could you ast him to take care of that task?"
[mind bortles] wait...you say task normally?

I understand this absolutely.  Just wanted to take this queue to add something.

Without meeting in person, this happens constantly.  It is so difficult to tell when someone has finished speaking on a conference/Skype call without any visual queues.  And pretty much all business dealing/meetings that I have with people nowadays are via conference call or Skype call.  It is exponentially more difficult the more people that are included in the call.
